Chiquesalunga United is a Pennsylvania-based club in the USA. Featuring a lengthy tradition of heritage stretching as far back as six seasons, it has won three league titles while competing in Division VI, the United States' lowest division in Hattrick. Founded shortly after the beginning of global Season 36, it won the Season 37 league title in series VI.462, spent two seasons in Division V, and returned to Division VI with back-to-back series VI.66 championships in Seasons 40 and 41. It will return to Division V in Season 42 as part of series V.117.
In addition to its league competitions, Chiquesalunga United maintains a full reserve squad, plays a friendly every week and is open to friendly challenges.
The Chiquesalunga Chickies youth squad also began competing in early October 2008.
Etymology
The club is named after a region along the Susquehanna River in southeastern Pennsylvania that the Lenape nation called "Chiquesalunga," meaning "place of the crayfish," prior to European colonization. Many present-day landmarks in the area bear names deriving from that term, including Chickies Rock, Chiques Creek, and the village of Salunga, among others. The club's home arena, The Cliff, is named after Chickies Rock, and the club's youth facility, Chickies Rock Park, is named after a real-life park that is popular with rock climbers, hikers, boaters, and hang gliders.
The Chickies Rock area is, in the owner's estimation, one of the most beautiful spots on the planet nobody's heard of.
The area was also the original site chosen for the location of the District of Columbia. The site for the proposed U.S. capital city was later moved further south to the banks of the Potomac River as part of a compromise for the southern states over the settlement of Revolutionary War debt. Because Washington D.C.'s real-life Major League Soccer team is named D.C. United, "United" was also made part of the moniker of this Hattrick team named after the place that almost became Washington, D.C.
Owner
Chiquesalunga United's owner is an aggrandizingly self-deprecating individual who sometimes speaks barbs of truthiness, but he is usually simply full of it. Occasionally, he bandies about important-sounding words like "etymology" and "it" for no apparent reason.
A south-central Pennsylvanian, his sports loyalties revolve primarily around the formerly long-suffering burg of Philadelphia. The suffering has since been eased somewhat by the Phillies' 2008 World Series triumph. In soccer, he is a supporter of England's Manchester United and F.C. United of Manchester, owing to his family roots in Stretford (making him, as he his always quick to point out, one of the few foreign Manchester United fans who comes by it honestly), the USL-2 Harrisburg City Islanders, owing to the club's close proximity to his home. He is also anxiously awaiting the 2010 addition of Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union and Women's Professional Soccer's Philadelphia Independence to the region.

Chiquesalunga United has a fan club numbering 1,954 as of April 11, 2010.
The fan club calls itself "The Sons of Bouva," in honor of both Philadelphia Union's "Sons of Ben" fan club and the region's Pennsylvania Dutch heritage ("Bouva," in the Pennsylvania Dutch language, literally means "boy" and more informally can be used as the equivalent of "homie").
History
In its opening season (36), Chiquesalunga United finished fourth in VI.462 with a 7-6-1 record, and the club went 5-1 in its last six league games. It qualified for the Season 37 U.S. Open Cup, only to lose to a Division V team 3-0 in the opening round. The club then proceeded to shock everyone, including its own management, by going 6-0-1 and holding a firm grip on first place in VI.462 in the first half of the league season. In the penultimate week of league play, Chiquesalunga United clinched the VI.462 title, and it finished the season with a 13-0-1 league record.
The club was promoted to Division V for Season 38, and it joined league V.185. Chiquesalunga United also advanced to the U.S. Open Cup's second round for the first time in its history that season. Despite a dismal 3-9-2 league record, the team finished sixth in V.185, avoiding automatic relegation and earning a playoff berth. The club won its playoff game 6-2 to remain in the fifth division. United improved its position in the league to fifth place with a much-improved 6-6-2 record in Season 39. However, in what fans now refer to as simply, "the disaster," United drew as its playoff opponent the winner of the top-ranked Division VI series in the entire USA. Chiquesalunga United was not able to defeat the VI.66 champion, ACO Olimpia, in the promotion/relegation playoffs.
As a result, Chiquesalunga United was thrown into the toughest sixth-tier league in the country, VI.66, beginning in Season 40. CU managed to win the league's title that year, but it could not get enough points to secure automatic promotion back to Division V and was not able to win its qualifier. So, Chiquesalunga United remained in VI.66 for Season 41. The season began with the club making its strongest U.S. Open Cup run ever, advancing to the third round before falling 1-0 to a Division III team. In week 13, Chiquesalunga United clinched its second consecutive VI.66 league title. The club went on to win its playoff game by a 1-0 margin to return it to Division V for Season 42.
