The championship is played in groups of 6 teams, home and away, over 10 weeks. The best teams from the group stages enter the "final eight".

The champion is awarded with the gold medal, the runner-up NT receives the silver medal, the losers of the semifinals both receive a bronze medal without a further playoff game.

Finals
The first final was played on 23 July 2021 in Poland between Bulgaria and Slovenia. Only x times a final went on to extra-time, x times they ended at penalty shoot-out.
