Croatia (Hrvatska in Croatian) is a Eastern European country. It was the 50th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Croatia was first internationally recognized as an independent state in 879, then, faced with Ottoman conquest in 1527, the Croatian Parliament elected Ferdinand I of Austria to the Croatian throne. In the final days of World War I, independent from Austria-Hungary since October 1918, Croatia merged into the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. On October 1991 the Federal State of Croatia declared independence from the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia, which was successfully achieved after four years of civil war.
