Man we have a serieus saboteur at work. I see you have reverted quite some pages. He seems to change ip all the time. What is it that he inserts in those pages anyway? I can't see a thing untill I click edit, then a whole list of links and stuff appears. The poor bastard can't feed his children he claims. Do you know what it is?

Hi; I've changed the names of the Hattrick:Flag templates and also i've moved the content of "Hattrick:National team templates" to that page. Soccer/Football

I didn't make the reverts because I think soccer should be used. To me, the terms are used interchangably on a global scale. I respect those in Sweden (what we call their country in America) by calling it by the local name of Sverige when I'm talking on a global forum, and I think that others should do the same. If an American writes soccer, especially when talking about an American who plays soccer (the Mod-Lytic page), then he should be able to without someone going through and replacing every instance of soccer with football. That is why I went through and made the reverts, because the original author chose to use soccer. -- Jake 19:04, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

He's got a point Jhattara. Europeans prefer to use the term football because in Europe football means one thing & one thing only, however we have to accept that to users in the US (& in other areas of the world where there are competing codes of football) then soccer may be a more culturally pertinent term of reference.It serves to differentiate it from other forms of football such as gridiron (or aussie rules).

I'd like to clarify that I don't intend to set a standard where every reference to the sport is changed to soccer or anything; I'm making the point that the original editor's terms should be kept. If the editor makes up a word or says the wrong thing (can instead of can't, should instead of will, etc) then it can be changed. But I think that if the original editor writes soccer, it should be left as soccer; and if the original editor writes football, it should be left as football. Or futbol. Translating

I come from Hong Kong, and I would like to translate the menu and some article(such as rules and newbie tips...) into Chinese, coz there is a trend of increasing in the number of users in Hattrick China, Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei.

Please tell me what I should do.

Zh is normal Chinese, mostly used in China and Chinese Taipei.

Zh-yue is Chinese also but in Cantonese, mostly used in Hong Kong and Guangdong (One of the China regions)
