History
Since changing owners at the very beginning of season 28, 1.FC BW Magdeburg have yet to be promoted from VI.285. The team quickly rose to be one of the top three teams in the series, and their best finish thus far came in season 34 when they became series champions for the first time in team history. Magdeburg haven't been able to make a decent stand in the US Open Cup however, only progressing to the third round once since being founded.
