These are the central players for your team, and probably the most important position as far as the matches are concerned.

The main skills used by these players are playmaking and stamina, passing and defending are also useful.

Individual Orders[edit]

Inner Midfielder's individual order determines what side profits the most. The possible individual orders for IM are:

Normal.png Normal inner midfielder (IM) — the standard order.
100% of his Playmaking for Midfield
40% of his Defending for Central Defence
18.9% of his Defending for Side Defence
32.5% of his Passing for Central Attack
21.8% of his Passing for Side Attack
Defensive.png Defensive inner midfielder (DIM) — they need more defending and less passing.
94.4% of his Playmaking for Midfield
59.4% of his Defending for Central Defence
27% of his Defending for Side Defence
21.9% of his Passing for Central Attack
14% of his Passing for Side Attack

88.1% of his Playmaking for Midfield
49.4% of his Winger for Side Attack
27.1% of his Passing for Side Attack
22.7% of his Passing for Central Attack
34.8% of his Defending for Central Defence
29.1% of his Defending for Side Defence.
Offensive.png Offensive inner midfielder (OIM) — they need more passing and less defending.
94.4% of his Playmaking for Midfield

10.2% of his Defending for Side Defence
48.3% of his Passing for Central Attack
21.6% of his Passing for Side Attack

Agglomeration Penalties[edit]

There are some agglomeration penalties, in case you play 2 or 3 midfielders on the same central position. Those penalties occur to all the skills of the players from that specific central compartment of your team and they are:

  • 2 Inner Midfielders: -6.5%
  • 3 Inner Midfielders: -17.5%

Specialities[edit]

An IM with no specialty is a decent middle ground without penalties. It's probably better than Technical, and is definitely better than an Unpredictable IM without good defending. Here is a ranking of specialities on mid-fielders:

Spec5Head.png Head is always good. This is probably the best for an IM.
Spec3Power.png Powerful IM gain a bit of PM/Defending/Scoring in the rain and lose Scoring (which they don't care about) in the sun. The downside is they might get tired early in the sun.
Spec1Technic.png Technical is probably worse than no specialty due to the negative PM rain event, but gains PM in the sun.
Spec4Unpred.png Unpredictable is better than nothing with good passing+defending, but is probably the worst specialty without good defending skills.
Spec2Quick.png Quick IMs can stop opposing Quick Forward events; they don't care about the scoring penalty in rain, but have defending penalty in the rain and sun either.
