History
Salt was founded at 12 May 2008 by manager Stamps, it started with some good players like Jeffrey Steers and Rinus Heersema. But the first week was quite revolutionary: Eliáš Nesnídal took the place as coach, Bouko Poels was fired directly. In the same week also some players were bought, like Schietecatte and Gabriel Omar Fitipaldis. Also the youthsquad Salt 1990 was founded that week and a friendly was arranged against the Dutch team DeNolios. The match was scheduled at 14 May 2008, the first match in the history of Salt. Against DeNolios the coach started with two Argentinian midfielders making their debut: Fitipaldis and Hamkalo. The coach started with the following eleven: Povh; Fokkens, Jadot, Steers, Van Den Hout; Schietecatte, Fitipaldis, Hamkalo, Witsen; Ponce and Heersema. The match started difficult for coach Nesnídal with losing goalkeeper Povh within' half an hour with an injury. DeNolios then grabbed their advantage and scored two goals before the break. The fast goal of Jeroen Witsen after the break gave Salt some hope, but some minutes later a penalty decided the match. Another goal of Jeffrey Steers couldn't change the match. DeNolios ended the match in a strong gear with another two goals, putting the score on 5-2. It pushed manager Stamps to the following words: 'This loss gives as much extra homework.' The same evening the club signed Micha Wielinga and having a contract for Hessel Stam, who signed it the morning after.
First match of Salt
Some days later, at Sunday 18 May 2008, Salt played their first leaguematch at home. They lost 1-3 versus FC Real Veerman United, but Salt was much better then earlier that week versus DeNolios. Main reason of losing was a red card for midfielder Nunzio Spada. The same week also FC Muts was too strong for Salt in a friendly. But one day later the youthsquad brought some satisfaction by ending it's first match in a 1-1 draw against FC Kieteleer, Korstiaan Kruger (36080613) scored the only goal. The upcoming leaguematch they again lost, the match against Stolwijk ended in a 3-2 loss. The last match, against Sylter, was now decisive for relegation. And then the club finally won their match under pressure, against Sylter the match ended in a 5-2 win at 'T Vaatje. The club stayed in the IX.649 for another season. The goals were scored by Hamkalo, Villanova, Steers, Corradino and Stam.

Youth Squad
One day after the foundation Salt also developed a youth squad, the squad was called Salt 1990 with the nicknames Salt and Ninetees. The first scouts were appointed to Rotterdam and Gelderland. The headcoach of the youthsquad is Huub Aukum, the scouts are Edwin Avezaat and Robert-Jan Barnas. The youngster train at Het Vaatje, a complex near the big stadium 't Vaatje. The first player scouted by Salt was Gelwin Koster (27207144).
In their first season, Salt 1990 played in the Best Off League. The first match ended in a 1-1 draw against FC Kieteleer by a goal of Korstiaan Kruger. Bart van der Made (as defender) and Gelwin Koster (as midfielder) where the best on the field.
The players: Koster, Franssen, Van De Kruijs, Van Es, Groote, Voeten, De Beer, Van Der Gouw, Kruger, Sier, Landsberg, Weinstein, Van Bennekom, Ketellapper, Van Der Made and Binneveld.

Bouko Poels vollunteerd to coach the team until a better coach was found, this only took some hours. Poels was 55 years old but couldn't fulfill the requested abilities. Poels was a offensive coach.

Nesnídal was appointed as coach directly after the foundation and was the successor of Poels, also the Czech is an offensive coach.

Supporters
The fanclub was called Pekel and had 108 supporters at the foundation of Salt. They were organising a bustrip for the first match against DeNolios. Head of the fanclub is Gert-Jan Vanderwaal. He got attached to the club as friend of former coach B. Poels.
Board
At 14 May 2008 the club made same serious progress on the board. Alex Heersema was appointed as sportsmanager, Bert Waalen joined the club as head of Commercial and Marketing and John Janssen became director of Finance and Operations.
Hall of Fame
At this moment no-one reached the Hall of Fame of Salt yet. A player is promoted to the hall of fame because of importancy in the club's history, playing dozens of matches for the club or scoring lots of goals. Also former coaches have the chance to enter de Hall of Fame.

The first match at 't Vaatje was a leaguematch and scheduled at sunday 18 May 2008, the opponent was FC Real Veerman United (169068135). The first goalscorer at the stadium was defender Jeffrey Steers (202336370), but Salt lost the match 1-3. Some weeks later Salt achieved maintenance in the IX.649 at their own ground by winning with 5-2 of Sylter.
