After the 3rd place of season 39 Fantapazzo aimed to the promotion in VIII series. The level of the league dropped and the Nerazzurri started as favourite. After a great first round, where Fantapazzo opened a big gap, the team began to misfire because of some unlucky matches. The other teams, that meanwhile strengthened, closed the gap and threatened the Nerazzurri's first place. However in the last days Fantapazzo managed to push them away and gained the promotion. This season was characterized by a clear policy change. Moderate skill-trading was replaced by a long-term training system, that meant selling young players after at least one season. Thus youth players were brought in first team to be trained for at least a season. This policy change entailed a stalemate in the economy of the club because of the lack of transfer income. In fact all through season 40 Fantapazzo had at its disposal only money from sponsors and matches and part of it was channeled into the enlargement of Fanta Stadium. Despite this the club managed to buy a couple of players for strengthening the team, in anticipation of starting the economy again next season.
