Season Summary

The first season of Icelandic team the Grindavík Grizzlies started in week 8 of the 62th season. We took over the license of Gunnlauchson who unfortunately got bankrupt and started in league IV.39 on the second place and never gave that position away. The first thing the new manager did was buying a couple of great young prospects like Hungarians Szintye, Kajla and Nemeth and also Bunea from Romania, Raun from Estonia and Bergseng from Norway. Two months later we sold Szintye for a record breaking fee of € 349.000. In our first match we surprised everyone with a great win against Stúlkafluga Int. After 90 minutes the score of 3-2 was on the scoreboard and the start of an exciting future. Wit wins against Weed Raiders and AC Zetor we collected 9 points in our first 3 matches. Unfortunately in the last 4 matches of the season we only got 2 points and conceded 8 goals. At the end of the season we decided to hire a new head coach from Italy and we expect a lot of him in the forthcoming season. We wish Valerio Scorza al the best during his time with the Grindavík Grizzlies.
