Following short spells in Italy and Brazil, Rebelo settled early on in his career with Belgian team Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track, where he found a good wife and a club where he could showcase his skills as a defender. His specialty of being a good header helped him to score quite a few goals, making 41 in 136 official appearances. After just over twenty seasons with the club, he retired at 43 years of age and was immediately inducted into the hall of fame.
