Summary
Kelsey- is a Hattrick manager from Leicestershire & Rutland, England.
He currently manages East Meekly in V.198, coaching the team to two league titles in Season 82 and Season 84 and runners-up in Season 81. He saved East Meekly from relegation in Season 85, resulting the in relegation of geographical and historical rivals Cosby Colts FC.
Background
Kelsey- is known for his preference for developing youth players through training, whilst playing attacking football. He started his career playing the 4-4-2 formation, but following demotion from V. 87 has been noted to play 3-5-2. Kelsey- makes the claim that "managers should be tactically flexible, but work within their plans and believe in it to reap the rewards".
In Season 85, Kelsey- changed his first team coach for the first time following the departure of Wesley Carrington, opting to hire young up-and-coming Argentinian manager Yuriy Kolupaev. Kelsey- and Yuriy are known to have a great working relationship, with Kelsey- stating that "[Yuriy] just gets football, he understands what Meekly needs and what Das Kleeblatt wants. It's a winning formula having him here at the club, and I'm sure he'll be here for a long time.
He can speak English fluently, good Deutsch and basic French.
England National Team
In 2023, Season 84, Kelsey- was a candidate in the yearly elections for National coach.
When running for the position, Kelsey gave the following candidate speech:
"As national team coach, I will implement an understanding of working with all types of players, and will have tactic flexibility within my role. I have an expansive knowledge of the game and can bring exciting new ideas to our national team, which is required for our progression. Understanding your opposition as well as understanding your own squad and how to utilise them, is the biggest battle in football. If you vote for me, you will be voting for an England team that improves year upon year."
Kelsey- ran alongside previous England assistant manager HPE-Bink286 - who was a majority favourite for the position. He was placed 2nd out of four candidates, finishing the election with 160 votes, amassing 12% of the total votes.
Controversy
Kelsey- has been known in the past for his dislike of Leicestershire & Rutland side Cosby Colts FC. Many East Meekly fans attribute his lack of composure against Cosby Colts FC to be a determining factor to the back-to-back league losses that caused Meekly to be demoted from V.87 in Season 83. Kelsey- was later heard to have put the blame on his local rivals for undeservedly remaining in the division.
In Season 85, Kelsey- kept East Meekly up in the fifth division for the first time, beating Cosby Colts FC by one point, resulting in their automatic demotion. East Meekly fans heaped praise on Kelsey- for his composure throughout the season, and revamping of Meekly to put them in a position to better their rivals.
