VI.106 (USA)

From Hattrick

A Hattrick football league on the lowest level of the USA hierarchy, VI.106 was founded at the beginning of season 19 when USA expanded from five levels to the current six.

The longest-lived team currently in the league is UGG (7th season in the league).

History[edit]

Many of the early teams that played in the league were very short lived. The first VI.106 champion to last more than two seasons were the season 23 champion Shanghai Vegans, who went on to play two complete seasons in division V.102 before folding after week 5 in season 26.

The oldest VI.106 champion which is still active is the season 26 champion el gran carnal, who currently play in VI.352. Other active former champions include season 27 champs Blue Knightz, season 28 champs Cincy Sting, season 30 champs The Galactic Empire, season 33 champs Cartwright FC, season 34 champs GT's STARS, season 35 champs ATARMP, season 36 champs Dunhill FC and season 37 champs The Sharks of San Jose.

Of the nine still-active former champions, three currently play in other division VI leagues, and six are still active in division V football. Two teams from VI.106 have climbed as high as division IV: Cincy Sting (one season in IV.53) and The Galactic Empire (one season in IV.40, and one season in IV.56).

season 37[edit]

In season 37, The Sharks of San Jose ended 4 years of second place finishes by going undefeated to win the VI.106 title.

season 36[edit]

There were two changes during the offseason: Skippers (formerly of V.9) replaced season 35 champion ATARMP, and Superaztek replaced Highland Park FC, which folded in the offseason. As typical in this league, it didn't take long for clubs to start to fold: Dunhill FC took over for FJV, Englandballsitup took over for Sp33d D3mmons, and les grenadiers took over for hhsoccer in week 3. Newcomers Dunhill FC edged out the Sharks of San Jose to win their first title, and promote to V.30.

season 35[edit]

There was one change during the offseason: Sp33d D3mmons (formerly of V.147) replaced season 34 champion GT's STARS. It was to be another year of high turnover, however, as five teams folded during the course of the season (Creampuffs were replaced by Highland Park FC in week 2, Pooters was replaced by vorees, Texas Premier FC was replaced by KaLlEyTz in week 3, KaLlEyTz in turn was replaced by FJV in week 10, and vorees was replaced by Woodstock Football in week 11). ATARMP had a perfect season, going 14-0-0 and winning automatic promotion to division V.9.

season 34[edit]

There were two changes during the offseason: GT's STARS replaced promoted season 33 champion Cartwright FC, and Tahitian Noni 1 took over for Khans, who folded in the offseason. It would be another tumultuous season, however, as four more teams folded during the course of the season (X-Fantasy replaced by ATARMP in week 3, Tahitian Noni 1 replaced by Creampuffs in week 9, barcaDena replaced by Pooters in week 12, and Rockers Football Club replaced by hhsoccer in week 14).

The biggest game of the season occured in week 14 when GT's STARS traveled to face The Sharks of San Jose, and had their hopes of a perfect season shattered by a hard-fought 1-1 draw. Aside from that one game, GT'S STARS easily dominated the other teams, and won a well-deserved promotion to V.147.
