The Sealand Cup II was the 2nd edition of the Sealand Cup, the friendly competition of the Sealand federation and was held in season 14. The final was held at Het Glorieuze Stadion van het Volk on 27 April 2005, where Tijny Devils defeated Spacekeezez 2–1. Defending champions Dashit Kabomb were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Philips Sport Vereniging.

Participating teams

16 teams intended to participate in the Sealand Cup II. In the end, five teams did not play any match. From the final eleven participants, seven made their début.

The teams were ranked first to sixteenth, based on their average ranking in the federation statistics for the first five weeks of the season. Teams were placed into four groups using the serpentine system; teams ranked 1, 8, 9 and 16 would be in Group A, teams ranked 2, 7, 10 and 15 in Group B, teams ranked 3, 6, 11 and 14 in Group C and teams ranked 4, 5, 12 and 13 in Group D.

Group Stage

The Group Stage of the Sealand Cup II ran from 23 March to 6 April 2005.

Format

The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (at home or away). Each team earned 3 points for a win and 0 points for a loss. The top-two teams of each group would advance to the quarterfinals, but because no matches were played in Group C, this group was disqualified and the two best third-placed teams of the other groups qualified instead.

One group match finished in a draw and that match continued with extra time and a penalty shoot-out. The winning team has been awarded 3 points for a win, instead of both teams being awarded 1 point for a draw. As no other matches were tied after ninety minutes, we can currently not assume if this was indeed the rule for drawn matches in Sealand Cup II.

Knockout Stage

The next stage of the tournament was the Knockout Stage. Eight teams qualified for this stage. Originally, the group winners and runners-up from all four groups would qualify, but after the disqualification of Group C, the group winners and runners-up from all three remaining groups did qualify, accompanied by the two best third-placed teams.

Draw

The teams were seeded first to eighth, based on their result in the group stage (group winners were seeded 1-3, runners-up were seeded 4-6 and the to best third-placed teams were seeded 7-8). The highest seed would face the lowest seed, but teams from the same group could not play against each other. In the semi-finals, the winners of the matches involving the first and fourth seed would play in the first match, while the winners of the matches involving the second and the third seed would play in the other match.
