Following short spells in Italy and Brazil, Rebelo settled early on in his career with Belgian team Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track, where he found a good wife and a club where he could showcase his skills as a defender. After just over twenty seasons with the club, he retired at 43 years of age and was immediately inducted into the hall of fame.
