Brecht De Maeyer is a former Belgian football player who is currently retired.
De Maeyer spent most of the early days of his career in search for a trainer understanding his quirky ways. In Switzerland at Hells Bells FC, he was allowed to train while walking his five dogs, to great dismay of his teammates. It did however help him to become a skilful defender. He returned to Belgium to play for Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track where he would play many seasons, appearing in 213 official games and occasionally picking up some goals. He now runs a kennel taking care of stray dogs.
