Albert-Pierre Dethier is a retired Belgian football player who last played for Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track in Belgium as a winger.
Dethier started his career with Treet.Ta-Tra, growing from the youth team into the main ranks. He left the team after three seasons, moving to Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track where he would remain for the rest of his career, a staggering 23 seasons!
Through his career he scored 64 goals for Lokomotiv Veltem, including two hattricks. He was however more famous for his many assists and has provided many goals for the most prolific Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track strikers. As such, he helped both Teddy Gourvil, Bence Könyves and Dietmar Wehmeier to reach over 100 goals in official matches.
Well in his 40s, Dethier suffered a serious left arm fracture in the second round of season 67 which meant he would never be able to play football. He remained part of the team for one more season before officially retiring in season 68. At that point, Dethier initially planned to leave the football world entirely and go live in anonymity, declining his Hall of Fame membership. He planned to run a lama farm in a remote village and spend time with his family. After supporters set up an internet poll to vote for Dethier as the next manager, he caved and took over the role from Oscar Bertolè to become the new manager of the team. He finally retired in season 76 after noticing he had lost his power to motivate the team in training.
