Why do the youth squad scouts not bring the types of players requested by the search criteria? This was a function promised by the HTs when the youth squad was implemented, and it does not work.

When you choose to search for a particular kind of player it's not 100% certain that your scout will come up with such a player. But there is a higher probibility that you'll get that type of player.

Does it make sense to change the search region of your YA scout? Maybe you can tell us some more about this?

It makes sense if it's common that your scout don't find any talents. But it's the same chance to get a good talent in all regions.

The number of available talents in a certain region is depending on the size of the region, ie the number of users/teams in the region. A big region got larger talent population. Therefore it might be wise not to put all your scouts in small regions, you should at least consider to move them if they often find nothing.

Moreover, the pool of talents is updated every day. It might therefore also be wise to call your scout later in the week as most users tend to call their scouts as fast as possible after the economic update.

Some clarification about scout giving nothing.

First, if someone is experiencing it too often please add exact details to this thread and I will check, but please put good valid data. The data should include region size (how many senior teams play in this region)

Second. The way scouts work might lead to no player offered more often in small regions then in big ones. If someone is experiencing those in big regions its harder evidence of something wrong. The larger the region the lower the probability of getting nothing. Small regions have their advantages and disadvantages. I would not reveal what they are here but when I check them I find a balance in the pros and cons sides. For having higher chance of getting nothing you get other advantage in return.

You've answered pretty much everything, except Kniff's question on the scouts themselves - are the scouts generic clones of each other, or are they different?

Is there any quantifiable difference between YA scouts?

They are the same. No use of firing one to hire a new one if you try to improve your pulls.

There's a new MyHT on its way out now, topic is new training/scout comments for the Youth Acacemies. The changes/new events (which take effect immediately) are designed to make the YA easier to understand, funnier and less frustrating. These changes are very needed, especially with the latest thread in this forum about this in close mind.

Better hints in the Youth Academies The Hattrick Football Association has just recently finished a communication course for all youth trainers and scouts in the academies. Scouts and trainers are now better educated to communicate, which means their hints will be easier to understand.

For starters, scouts will always give at least two hints when evaluating a prospect. Moreover they will not use the prospect scale (doubtful, hopeless etc) anymore as it was more confusing than helpful.

Trainers have learned a whole new terminology and are eager to use it. The training report will contain more hints, and more useful hints. Trainers will report less skill increases, instead they will focus on better information about the players' skills and potentials and how far away players are to reach their maximum potential.

I'm sorry if I'm going a bit off topic, but is there any chance that you'd elaborate on the all arounder messages a little bit?

Nope. I try to avoid any cases of giving information that can be used for profit in the forums.

we're pretty much clueless about them at the moment

I do not agree. You have vague idea and you are not sure about the details. Hattrick is a game of "feeling" rather then a game of formulas. I think you know that a passable all around is more likely to be a good player compared to all around weak. You also know that the later might have in some unique cases a better selling potential as fully trained then the all around passable. I think its enough. On general this gives some vague idea on the possibility of a player being a good one. The trial to 100% understand the formula is a fun aspect for users who try to maximize their profit. I think we should keep it that way. I am not saying this is a perfect situation either, but as sometimes, there is also good in "bad". Hope you get me right.

I guess what we know at the moment comes down to the fact that the phrase "right now" was removed from the English sentences when somebody pointed out that it implies that only current skills are used in that calculation.

While the above (what I wrote) is true this game is about text, and therefore I believe the text should imply on something exactly as it happens behind the scenes. This will lead to fixes of any case where it isn't the case.
