GameMasters are appointed by the Hattrick team. There is no typical procedure for this, and applications for the position are not accepted. Typically, GameMaster candidates are active members of the community, mature and constructive, as well as knowledgable about the game.

GameMasters spend a great deal of their time hunting for cheaters, to make sure that no user gets any unfair advantages. This is one important task, but they have also others:
