Bio

Ville Österholm is a powerful midfielder who plays for Jimmyhats. He transferred to the squad on February 3, 2013, primarily to serve as a central defender and occasional wingback. Over time, he worked his way into a starting role as a midfielder, often playing toward the wing.

Growing up on the flat lands of Österbotten was the perfect training ground for Österholm's powerful playing style. As the youngest of seventeen siblings, he was forced to push his way to the table at meal time and play with energy and violence on the pitch in order to be taken seriously. Over time, and with training, he learned to control the violent tendencies in his play and grew to become a coveted member of any team on which he played.

Fun Fact: Ville Österholm often sings Vaasan marssi in local bars after away matches.

Österholm broke into the professional ranks with Vaasan Sport, a now-defunct team in the Finnish system. He played in three different countries, most notably for seven full seasons with Finnish club Fissi Cats, before transferring to Jimmyhats. His first appearance in a Jimmyhats uniform was during a league match at The Big Jimmy against Banshee Football on February 4, 2013 (3/51).
