Sealand Cup XVI

The Sealand Cup XVI was the 16th edition the Sealand Cup, the friendly competition of the Sealand federation and was held in season 34. The final was held at Sealandisch Boorplatform on 6 July 2011, where De Snelle Jelles defeated Sherlock's Boys 1–0. SC RedHead were the defending champions, but were eliminated by De Snelle Jelles in the Semi-Finals.

Seeding

The draw for the group stage was held in Heeze on 4 May 2011.

Teams were seeded into four pots based on their Sealand-Coefficient. The title holders, SC RedHead, were automatically seeded into Pot Alfa. Teams from the same region could not be drawn against each other. Pot Alfa held teams ranked 1–7, Pot Bèta held teams ranked 8–14, Pot Gamma held teams ranked 15–21, while Pot Delta held teams ranked 22–28.

Prior to the draw, the fixtures were decided. There was one restriction: the German and Belgian team cannot play at home on the last matchday due to difference in starting time.

Group Stage

The Group Stage of the Sealand Cup XVI ran from 9 February to 20 April 2011

Format

The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (at home or away). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win in extra time or penalty shootout, 1 point for a loss in extra time or penalty shootout, and 0 points for a loss in regular time.

If two or more teams were equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria would be applied to determine the rankings:

1. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
2. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;
3. superior goal difference from all group matches played;
4. higher number of goals scored;
5. higher fair-play-score;
6. higher Sealand-Coefficient.
