Growing up on the flat lands of Österbotten was the perfect training ground for Österholm's powerful playing style. As the youngest of seventeen siblings, he was forced to push his way to the table at meal time and play with energy and violence on the pitch in order to be taken seriously. Over time, and with training, he learned to control the violent tendencies in his play and grew to become a coveted member of any team on which he played.
Nicolajsen was born to pot-smoking hippies living in Christiania, specifically conceived at the moment his father paused momentarily to roll a hash spliff on his mother's behind, thereby triggering the relaxation that led to Nicolajsen's embryonic fertilization. Despite the soporific tendencies of his parental units, Nicolajsen maintained an athletic hyperactivity and soon developed the skill to boot a large baggie of weed into a Grecian urn from any range within thirty meters. This, of course, attracted the attention of football scouts and Nicolajsen's football career was soon underway.

Österholm broke into the professional ranks with Vaasan Sport, a now-defunct team in the Finnish system. He played in three different countries, most notably for seven full seasons with Finnish club Fissi Cats, before transferring to Jimmyhats. His first appearance in a Jimmyhats uniform was during a league match at The Big Jimmy against Banshee Football on February 4, 2013 (3/51).
