Serbia (Србија, Srbija in Serbian) is an Eastern Europe country. It was the 49th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Serbia's population is approximately 7 million without Kosovo or 8.8 million if the territory is included. Its capital and largest city is Belgrade.
The country co-founded Yugoslavia in 1918, which would exist in various political formations until the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s. During the breakup of Yugoslavia, Serbia formed a union with Montenegro, which was peacefully dissolved in 2006. In 2008, Kosovo unilaterally declared independence, with mixed responses from the international community.

History

• Serbian league exists since April 2002. It is one of the nine new leagues for global season 16.
• It was once called Srbija i Crna Gora (Serbia & Montenegro) until the creation of Montenegro in local season 15 (August 2006).
• Serbia has not hosted any World Cup yet.
