Prince Roy Cup III was the third edition of the Prince Roy Cup, a friendly competition in the Sealand federation for teams that were not able to compete in the Sealand Cup. The tournament was held in (Dutch) season 60, with the deciding match played on 30 June 2019. RKTVV won the championship eventually, by defeating FC Jaapo 2–0. Both teams had also qualified for the final of Prince Roy Cup II, but this match was not played until a season later. The title holders (which turned out to be RKTVV) were thus not know at the time of Prince Roy Cup III.

Participating teams

Three teams were not able to compete in Sealand Cup XLII because they were still active in a cup competition. Therefore, they were eligible to participate in Prince Roy Cup III, since that competition started at a later date.

Two teams had taken part in both previous Prince Roy Cup, with one team only competing in the first edition. They had played in Sealand Cup XLI in the previous season.

Note that the final of Prince Roy Cup II was not yet played at the time of Prince Roy Cup III, so the best result of RKTVV (either one or two championships) and FC Jaapo (either one championship or two second places) were not determined at the time of the draw.

Seeding

An actual draw did not take place. It was decided that the two teams that were eliminated from a cup competition the earliest would play in the first match. These teams were De Snelle Jelles (eliminated at 15 May) and RKTVV (eliminated at 5 June), so they played each other a week later, at 12 June. As FC Jaapo was not eliminated from their cup competition that week, the matches involving FC Jaapo had to be played during the final week of the season. Therefore, the final of Prince Roy Cup II - which was scheduled to be played after both RKTVV and FC Jaapo were eliminated from a cup competition - could not take place during this season.

Teams were seeded first to third based on their Sealand-Coefficient. This was determined by results in all previous Sealand Cups. The seeding was only used to decide the teams playing at home in each match.

Final Tournament

Format

The third Prince Roy Cup ran from 12 to 30 June 2019. The three participating teams played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams once (one match at home and one match away). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time. For goal difference purposes, winning after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out counted as a single golden goal. This point system is comparable to the system used by the (real-life) IIHF for international ice hockey matches.

Because of the odd number of teams, all three participants had one bye round in the group stage. The schedule was fixed to guarantee that the last group match would matter for first place in the group. Because of this, the winners of the first match would automatically receive their bye during the match. FC Jaapo (the team that was active in a cup competition for the longest time) had their bye during the first round.

The team finishing on top of the group was crowned the winner of the Prince Roy Cup. If two teams were level on points, the winner of the head-to-head match would have been ranked higher.
