Contribution

The contribution of a single player to match ratings is determined by his skills (Playmaking, Passing, Defending...), role (in defence, midfield or offence) and his position on the field (goalkeeper, defender, forward...). In other words, you have different contribution to ratings both placing a player in a new position or replacing a player with another with different skills.

According to the Hattrick manual, match ratings divide the team in 7 sectors on field (3 of defence, 1 of midfield and 3 of attack) and, for each one of them, skills that contribute to sector ratings are:

Last table adds individual player orders (defensive, offensive or towards middle/wing) and a little math. May seem complicated at first glance, but it is actually quite simple. Take for example the Goalkeeper's contributions in Central Defense:

• 0.165 for Goalkeeping (the goalkeeper's Goalkeeping is 12),
• 0.079 for Defense (the goalkeeper's Defense is 6).

Then we can calculate Player's contribution to central defense = 12 * 0.165 + 6 * 0.079 = 2.45

Adding the contribution of other players we will find the central defense rating.

Note: Coefficients ​​are calculated playing a normal "away" match (without bonus to midfield), without tactics, with a balanced coach and offence ratings related to average levels of confidence. Player's loyalty bonus can be added later. No Overcrowding penalties applied.
