Assyria Masters FC was created 2004-10-06 by assyrian_77. The team was first named Assyria but changed its name in 2005-01-24 to the current one. The name Assyria was however kept as a short team name. The user name was also changed, to Assyrian_Master. At the end of the 30th season, the username went through another change, this time to AssyriaQ.

Assyria Masters FC is currently playing in league V.235 in Florida, Template:Flag/USAn.

Achievements

  • : Winner of league VI.440, season 25. Alvin Anderson was named top scorer with 22 goals.
  • : Winner of league VI.985, season 27. Manolo Fargas was named top scorer with 32 goals.

History

  • Season 24: This Global Season was Assyria's first in Hattrick. The previous club holding the "spot" was orange county discontent, which had won its league in Division VI in season 23, and was thus promoted to Division V. I took control over the club and named it Assyria. Assyria started their Hattrick adventure in league V.92 in USA. Alas, as a beginner in Division V, the result could only be one. Assyria finished in 8th position with 0 points and was therefore demoted to Division VI. However, the season was spent on learning more about the game. At the end of the season, the club named was changed to the current one; Assyria Masters FC. The team's adventures in the national cup were not much better; lost in the 1st round with 7-0.
  • Season 25: Starting "fresh" in VI.440, Assyria won all their games during this season. This, however, sounds more impressive than it actually was. Of the seven opponents, six were so called bot teams. Anyway, promotion to Division V. As for the cup, Assyria won their first game and managed to reach the 2nd round.
  • Season 26: Back again in Division V, this time V.55, the team hoped to be able to compete with the other teams. However, this hope was in vain. The season was a disappointment; with only 7 points (2 victories), Assyria fell down again.
  • Season 27: The league was now VI.985. This time, all the seven opponents were bot teams. Lots of fun... Anyhow, the team took the opportunity to build up a stronger squad, in preparation for the promotion back to Division V. Need to mention that Assyria won all their games?
  • Season 28: Finally, with a strong squad (hopefully) and good economy, the team was back, now in V.235. This time with a strong dedication to stay in Division V. And the season went better than imagined. Assyria came in 2nd place, losing only two games, both against the winner of the league. For the first time ever, Assyria was neither demoted nor promoted. Also, the team reached the 3rd round of the cup for the first time.
  • Season 29: The team's hopes to maybe compete for promotion were pretty soon crushed and instead, Assyria were closer to the qualification positions 5 and 6. But at the end, all went well and Assyria finished in 3rd.
  • Season 30: The season went quite well. It was early understood that Assyria would not be able to compete for promotion so the goal was set to have as good a season as possible while at the same time slowly make the team stronger. Managing to somehow finish 2nd, this season was a success. Also, this season saw one of the best youth pulls in the club's history: Wesley Mcghee, a 17 years old solid playmaker with solid passing.

Arena

The arena of the team is Assyria Stadium of Tiglath-Pileser. Its previous name was simply Assyria Arena but this was changed to the current one in remembrance of the great Assyrian kings of the name Tiglath-Pileser in ancient times. It has the following distribution of seats:

Terraces: 30000
Basic seating: 12000
Seats under roof: 4800
Seats in VIP boxes: 1200
Total capacity: 48000

Fan Club

The official fan club of the team is Winged Bulls. It refers to the winged bull symbols often seen as statues or on walls in ancient Mesopotamian cultures.

Other Cups

SHTS Cup
The first non-national cup Assyria Masters FC participated in was the SHTS Cup (the cup of the federation Svenska HT-Studenter), during season 28. The cup usually starts with a group play, viz. 8 groups with 4 teams in each and the winners and first runners-up advance. In the first season, Assyria came in third place in their group, after winning one game, playing a tie the second game and finally losing the third one, against Telge FC, a team Assyria Masters FC is a supporter of.

The second time Assyria played this cup (season 29), it ended, after only one win, again, with the team on 3rd place. No advancement this season either.

Florida Cup
Assyria Masters FC played in the Florida Cup which started at the end of season 28 (i.e. the first game after the leagues end). The cup consisted of only eight teams and was a strictly team eliminating cup. Unfortunately, the cup started badly from the very beginning. One of the eight teams had booked another friendly game instead of the supposed game in the cup. Assyria won their game in the first round with 7-1 against team Voyagers. For the second round, another team had booked a friendly outside the cup and eventually Assyria's second round opponent did so as well since no one knew how to continue. The cup was declared a failure and ended.

Assyrian Chaldean Soryoyo Cup
Assyria Masters FC participated in the Assyrian Chaldean Soryoyo Cup during season 29. The cup consisted of twelve teams: two from the USA, two from Schweiz (Switzerland), one from Hellas (Greece) and seven from Sverige (Sweden). The teams were spread in 3 groups and the winner of each group plus the best second placed team advanced to the next round, the semifinals. Assyria was in group A, where they won against FC AssyriskaTemplate:Flag/SUI (5-1) and Alqosh F.C.Template:Flag/USA (5-1) and played a draw against FC BabylonTemplate:Flag/SUI (2-2). As the winner of the group, Assyria advanced to the semifinals and won their game against Syrianska FccTemplate:Flag/SWE (4-0). In the final, however, Assyria lost against MacDonalds McTemplate:Flag/SWE (0-4).

Physicists in Hattrick Cup
Assyria Masters FC played this cup during season 30, for the first time ever. The cup is of "beach volleyball style" meaning that a team has to lose two games in a row to be out. Assyria won their first match but lost the second one. By random, Assyria were chosen "lucky losers", which ment they automatically went to the next level. That game was, however, lost and, since it was the second loss in a row, Assyria were out of the cup.

Federations

Assyria Masters FC is currently a member of the following federations:

  • Flag Chasers Community (FC-C): Flag Chaser
Became a member 2005-06-25. This was the first federation I joined. This federation is the largest in Hattrick (over 10000 members) and is mainly based on the feature of receiving country flags when playing international friendlies. This federation has lots of fun contests based on flags and youth pulls. My current status means I have a collection of at least 40 different flags from international away-friendlies (i.e. not counting the USA flag).
  • Svenska HT-Studenter (SHTS): Doktorand
Became a member 2005-10-25 and chose the status Doktorand. Svenska HT-Studenter means Swedish HT-Students and doktorand simply means Ph.D. student. This federation is for swedish students, ex-students and soon-to-be-students and has a very friendly atmosphere in its conference. Of all my federations, this is the federation conference I am most active in.
  • Physicists in Hattrick (PiH): Paul Dirac
Became a member 2006-02-15 and chose the status Paul Dirac which is for us who are mainly interested in theoretical physics. (And of course since Dirac used to be a faculty member of my university).
  • Svenska HT Akademien (SA HT): Stödmedlem
Became a member 2006-03-10. The name can be translated to Swedish HT Academy and stödmedlem means supportive member. This federation is for people interested in the swedish language and its proper use. It wants to guide (swedish) HT users to a better (and more correct) usage of the language.
  • International Politics Federation (IPF): Member
Became a member 2006-07-05. Members of this federation discuss and debate international politics freely, without the regulations in the normal conferences.
