The FIFA.com Club Federation Cup (VII Edition) Final was a football match that took place on 19 October 2011, at Leões de Lisboa at Açores, Portugal, to dertermine the winner of the FIFA.com Club Federation Cup (VII Edition). The match was contested by Argentina Villa Elisa F.C. and Mexico AKV Football Club, both attempting to win their first FIFA.com Club Federation Cup.

Villa Elisa won it on penalty shoot-out, after they draw with AKV Football Club in the regular time and then extra time.

The final date was chosen because it falls on the same week with 2011 Rugby World Cup Final.

Finalists

Prior to this game, AKV Football Club and Villa Elisa F.C. have met four times, with two wins per side. However, three of that matches were friendlies. Their last match was an encounter in last season's quarterfinals, with the Mexican side winning it 2 - 0. This is the first time they will meet in a final. None has reached the Final before. AKV Football Club is contesting their first final, despite of had participated in all Cup editions.

They're from Argentina (Villa Elisa F.C.) and México (AKV Football Club), it means that a team from a new country will win the FIFA.com Club Federation Cup.

AKV Football Club's best performance was Semi Finals (I and VI editions), when Villa Elisa's best performance was Quarter Finals (VI edition) in only their first time in the tournament. This is just Villa Elisa's second time in the tournament.

Route to the Final

AKV Football Club were the first (as always) team to join this season's Federation Cup. They were placed at Group D. They started with three consecutive wins against giallarossi (1:0), Ft Worth (3:0) and then they defeated in a very close match to Sebasteaua 1 (2:1), therefore they tied with Plymouth Punishers (0:0). So they advanced to the Knock-out Stage where they defeated Sanad Emperors (3:0) and then Scurge (1:0), a team that eliminated them two times in the past and who lost in last season's semi finals, a final that Scurge would lose by Walkover.

Villa Elisa were placed at Group B. They defeated Os astutos (0:4), Sons of the South (0:1) by WO to Wild Weasels, and tied with Scuge (2:2) with a comeback from 0:2. They would later defeat Devil of Airahaz (4:3) after extratime, in a very entertaning match and therefore defeating FC Sherry (1 time runner-up) 0 - 5 to advance to the final.

AKV Football Club scored ten goals and received just one before reaching the final, and Villa Elisa F.C. scored seven goals and received five. Gabriel Grünberg and David Porter are the top-scorers for AKV Football Club, with three goals each one. Teemu Loikala is the top-scorer of Villa Elisa, scoring four goals during the tournament before reaching the final.

Comments prior the game

Player Commentary
Argentina Carlos Rodríguez It will be a tough game, we know that AKV Football Club is a great team, we should take care of not commit fouls near the area, we should get on the field fully concentrated to play.
Argentina José Luis Ierino The team is well, we're coming from winning in the league, it will be an equal encounter, the team which is better will take the glory and we come for it.
Argentina Rubén Darío Espina We never thought to get here and decide the cup with AKV. I do not worry about the game as we're minded we saw many videos of AKV. We know the game they play. What worries me is what might happen outside the field with the fans of the two teams doing outrages and break the friendship between both clubs.
Germany Gabriel Grünberg This is the most important match in our history. We're going to do anything to win this game, as it is our first FIFA.com Club Federation Cup final and really a loss would break my manager's heart. Our fanatics have waited this for a long time, and now our time has come. I want to lift this trophy, which would be my greatest achievement in my 17-year career. Which can end this Wednesday if we take the trophy.
Mexico Román Azcué I know that surely I will not play, but I'm still supporting the team that allowed me to become a professional player. This is club's most important match in history, I know I'm a historical player in the club, just because I was the best mexican player of the club (It will end soon, if it has not ended yet, because of Mauro Ozorio) and scoring a hattrick in our first game ever. I think we should play smarter than our opponent to win this match.
Northern Ireland David Porter I'm very excited about this match, I'm nervious. This is going to be the greatest match I've ever played. I want to say bye to this great club who allowed me to train what I needed with a great match and the greatest title they can get. If I have chances to become a NT player for Northern Ireland is thanks to this club.
Sweden Håkan Grundskog I will not comment too much, just say that we will play as good as we can because we need to win this match.
