Abuauad travelled the world throughout his career, starting in his home country at 19 years of age, spending nearly 9 seasons with Rayovac. At an age where most footballers are thinking of retiring, Abuauad started his globetrotter experience, passing through Lithuania, England, Turkey, Hungary and France before finally ending up with Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track in Belgium.
Although arriving at 33 years of age, Abuauad still spent 14 seasons at this club, often using his technical skills to his advantage as he scored 12 goals in over 100 appearances for the team. He finally decided to retire and return to his home country with his Hungarian wife, which he met while playing for Nógrád. Having spent many years in Belgium, he grew acquainted with the sport of cyclo-cross, which he is currently trying to develop by teaching it to young kids in Chile.
