Biography

  • Shadrack Mtangi was a Tanzanian player who was promoted on July 31st, 2009 and put on the transfers market the very same day.

On August 2nd, 2009 (during Global season 39), L'auberge espagnole bought him for 700,000 €, which was very expensive regarding his skills.
But, as the pool size of his country was very small, the player was considered at that time as one of the best promising wingers of his country's generation. His initial skills were 5 in Winger and 5 in Playmaking.

  • Almost at the same time, he was selected in Tanzanian U-20 team on September 18th, 2009,Hattrick-link.png(250499265), at the age of only 17 years and a few days, as there was a generational gap for the wingers in his country of origin. He played 52 NT-games, including 18 official games, during 4 seasons, making him the most selected U-20 player in Tanzania. He is still holding to this record at the time these lines are written.
  • He played a significant part in the sucesses of the club, helping it to win the 3rd Luxembourg series title, enabling the club to be promoted for the 2nd series.

Later, Mtangi won the 2nd series title of his club's country, and helped his club to the highest series of Luxembourg, called Nationaldivisioun.

  • In Global season 44, on March 4th, 2011, at the age of only 22, he was selected in the National Team of Tanzania,Hattrick-link.png(314558814), which showed another time how extraordinary his skills were. Nobody knew at that time, but he has then been selected for 12 seasons in a row in the Tanzanian-NT.
  • In Global season 51 (Luxembourg season 30), he won both titles in Championship and National Cup, taking with him his club to the highests for the first time in the Hattrick Masters for the following season.
  • In Global season 53, he won again the Championship (on December 8th, 2013, Hattrick-link.png(449153158)), then won the National Cup during the 2 following seasons : Global season 54 (on February 19th, 2014, Hattrick-link.png(468444290)) and Global season 55 (on June 11th, 2014, Hattrick-link.png(482848214)), helping the club to set a new invincibility record in Cup (26 games won in a row).
  • On the other side, he played the qualifications for World Cup with French National team several times, as many friendly games, taking his total number of played games for his National Team to 127 games (3rd biggest played games number for a Tanzanian player) including 62 official games. He scored 17 goals, including 7 goals during official games.

Noticeable fact, he got injured twice while playing in NT, on December 13th, 2011 and on May 11th, 2011.

  • In Global season 55 (from April to August 2014), which was to be his last season played with L'Auberge, Mtangi played during the Hattrick Masters, finished at 3rd place in Championship and won the National Cup for the 3rd time.
  • He was selected for the last time as a Tanzanian NT-player on August 8th, 2014 for a friendly game,Hattrick-link.png(496381932), his last official game dating back to April 11th, 2014 Hattrick-link.png(467484540).

At the age of 33, the club decided to sell him for 2,6M€ to Pine Villa, on August 18th, 2014. He left as a consequence for a last adventure in a new club, 5 years after being recruited by L'auberge, for a total of 16 seasons, and after spending the entire part of his career in L'auberge.

On July 24th, 2017, he became an Excellent Head Coach of Pine Villa, and still is the coach as these lines are written, thanks to his amazing experience (level 45). Later, he will come into L'auberge espagnole's Hall of Fame, where he will be given a new challenge, side by side with Johnny Couzinet.
