A wing back using towards middle individual order (WBTW) boosts the rating of central defence, at the expense of the side. In addition the wing back will contribute far less to the wing attack rating on his side.
It is particularly useful against teams that use the AIM order, whilst largely abandoning their wing attacks.

Traditionally, this order was widely regarded as useless, but WBTW has its place after the game engine changes of seasons 27-28.

A WBTM uses his wing skill to contribute to the Wing Attack rating on their side of the field just like any wing back. However that skill is reduced. It is like you are playing with slightly less than 1/2 a Central Defender and slightly less than 1/2 a Normal Wingback (who contribute to wing attack). This has serious consequences for your wing defence rating on the side where you play your WBTM: your side defence rating for that side will significantly fall.
