A WBTM uses their wing skill to contribute to the Wing Attack rating on their side of the field just like any [[Wingback]]. However that skill is reduced. It is like you are playing with slightly less than 1/2 a Central Defender and slightly less than 1/2 a Normal Wingback (who contribute to wing attack). This has serious consequences for your wing defence rating on the side where you play your WBTM: your side defence rating for that side will significantly fall.

The wingskill of the WBTM should also be taken into consideration for maximum efficiency of the player. They are like a Normal Wingback in that their defensive contribution on the wing is slightly less than and their wingskill contribution is greater than hypothetically half a Defensive Wingback.

A wing back using towards middle individual order (WBTW) boosts the rating of central defence, at the expense of the side. In addition the wing back will contribute far less to the wing attack rating on his side.

It is particularly useful against teams that use the AIM order, whilst largely abandoning their wing attacks.

History

Traditionally, this order was widely regarded as useless, but WBTW has its place after the game engine changes of seasons 27-28.

The following contents are based on the opinion of Hattrick users — which means that their veracity and accuracy have not been confirmed by any official statement, and consequently they do not necessarily reflect the game reality. Please take this into consideration!

A WBTM uses his wing skill to contribute to the Wing Attack rating on their side of the field just like any wing back.

The wing skill of the WBTM should also be taken into consideration for maximum efficiency of the player. They are like a normal wing back in that their defensive contribution on the wing is slightly less than and their wing skill contribution is greater than hypothetically half a Defensive Wingback.
