Nl/AHdorp

Categories Dutch Federations and such are reserved for English language pages. If you want to categorize the federation create an English page for it and make interwiki links between the English and Dutch versions. --Jhattara 09:30, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

U-20 coach

I don't know. I think I was both National and U-20 coach and I recently found papers with the squad information of the national team. So I'm sure I coached them there, but since I don't find anything of the U-20, I don't know for sure. NT/U-20 templates

For whatever reason, what I started doing was originally done for the USA national team coaches. I started expanding it to other nations. I think it does make sense to have something on the user pages (keeping in mind, I'm putting it at the bottom of those pages), especially in instances where they aren't already recognized as a former national coach.

However, it might be better to start them off collapsed or something. I'm not sure if we can do that.

If you're a member of the Wiki federation within HT, I started a discussion of national team / U-20 templates there. I'd be interested in continuing the discussion in a more public forum so we can get additional ideas from other active editors. --Mr Wednesday 20:06, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Series Categories

Note that when categorising series you must also put the group number, not just the level, into the category sort order. Hattrick Wiki Scope

Dank u wel voor de groetjes! :) I guess you're right on cities etc. Concerning ISO codes that would be a question of implementing them - do we use it or not? May even be that in this early state of the wiki the clear answer is "yes" and later on this will be reviewed. However, I don't see an urgent necessity now so away with 'em :)

And here's another one, somehow relative to your comment: I don't see a necessity in ISO codes, but I see a necessity in internationalization of the country categories and all stuff related to that. If you see how things are mixed now and how top level categories aren't "meta"-ized, sooner or later this all will crash down on you ("you" as in "the wiki responsibles"). I suggest some conceptual thinking on how to re-organize the top level structures, now that it wouldn't be as much work as later on... "All the stuff" just meant the countries themselves, the languages, etc... I guess it's necessary to centralize things. The most effective work can be done if people know what to link and to work with, regardless of where they come from, what language they speak etc... e.g. Category:Misr: It isn't even a redirect. Chances are rather low that the common Middle European (or whatever else, but I can speak for them) knows that Egypt is called Misr (btw: why not Al-Misr, as in Al Yaman and so on? this is confusing), so chances do exist they'll just leave the fingers away from linking or whatever useful work they could do with that. •  Lirion (Λιριων, Лирион, ليريون)  wtf? • 14:52, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Deletions & Renaming of files

Hi. I'm just wondering (as you seem to be the person who does everything on this wiki :) ) how to delete or rename uploaded files? I've uploaded a file and I'd like to either rename it or delete it and re-upload it with the correct name. What is the best way to go about doing this? Thanks. Current spam problem

As you can see on the Recent Changes Page, our wiki has recently been discovered as easily accessible for spam (bots).

I urge all active administrators to immdiately take countermeasures; such as a captcha for the registration process. That is spread all over Wikipedia, so there's at least one mediawiki extension known to work fine and easy to implement.

Please delete these items

By mistake I created a file parallel to the World U-20 in Spanish. It moved and updated the original file, so I need to remove this Es/Mundial Sub-20.

I created a file for this player I had on my computer, but in truth is not important enough to create you an article so please delete these: Es/FC Wolves 1889/Benito Galarza and [File:Benito Galarza.JPG]

Revert war in Template:User

There's a problem in Template:User with User:Para Para. I modified the template a few months ago in order to adequate this template according to wikipedia style. Now user Para Para decided to make his template but changing Template:User (probably he likes the name) and took my template to another page called Template:Infobox/User. I'm not agree with this decision and I reverted these changes. As I expected, a revert war is started. I consider this user don't know exactly how this wiki works, specially when writing wiki codes or having a discussion between users, and I think my changes in this template were adequate for this wiki, but I'm not an admin here, so that's why I write you. I just don't understand what's going on with Lleida. I ask him the permission to change a page he edited (but he didn't create) and in a first moment it seems to be all fine. But after the change he undid (Am I creating new verbs?) the page.
Ok, no problem, the template will remain as it was before. No war, just a little misunderstanding. The point at issue is that I suggest him to use a template called Infobox_something for an infobox, but if he prefers to use an anonimous template. No problem. ;D -- User:Para Para

Player name policy

It seemed like a good compromise at the time. And being the only left Wiki-admin on a wiki left for dead by the HT's, I thought the rules could be bent a little for the happiness for the remaining users. Greetings Nightwish (talk) 11:09, 10 November 2014 (CET)
Ok I figured as much. However I still believe it is wrong and from your reasoning I understand that you also feel the same way. Personally I think this user should learn how to use the wiki instead of claiming that 'his links are broken' and just doing what he wants. The advantage of a wiki is that everyone can edit, but this requires clear rules to maintain the structure. What will happen when other users start creating pages with the format Teamname:playername or playername/teamname or whatever they come up with? Will we allow that too? (Also, note that if the reasoning is that only few people remain, we could just as well allow all players to be created directly without any notability policy, dropping the teamname part as a whole.)
In summary, I propose that we either:
1) Enforce the policy and change all the players.
2) Change the policy to allow multiple solutions but then list all the available ones.
As you notice from my statement, IMHO option number 1 is the best one and I'm willing to help change also all the links and redirects to these players to make sure all his links work smoothly. I hope that together we can convince User:Bilke5 that this is the best solution.
PS: I completely understand your reasoning and decision. I would love to see this wiki as a thriving community too, but only few people seem to actively use it. It's a pity we have to correct the mistakes of one of the few active users in here, but I honestly believe we have to be strict about this. I'm not doing it anything wrong. I belive that my way is better and smarter way - there's no middle step when opening player page (one who's telling you that you've being directed), it's opening player page immediately. Second, player page should be in first about him. Not first CLUB than he. And without any ()-marks it's just looks like he has double names or something like that. Because in some languages when you have two names, it's writen like that - "Name/Name Suranme". Go open some pages from real life teams and players. And see what it looks like. We all here should be streaming to that way...

Please, I'm not trying to break your pages. Stay reasonable. I cannot believe you are actually comparing me to Hitler now? Anyway, with regards to your remarks:
1) there's no middle step when opening player page (one who's telling you that you've being directed). There will never be a middle step, as long as you put the link correctly. Show me which one you are clicking and I will fix it, probably that's because you reverted all the changes that you're passing through multiple redirects. Try this: Andrea Carnevale. Perfect! No redirect. This can be done for all pages. :)
2) player page should be in first about him. Not first CLUB than he.. I believe the current system is better, as it allows to differentiate easily between notable and non-notable players. With non-notable players always in subdirectories. We should find more opinions and a vote to decide which method is best here.
3) Go open some pages from real life teams and players. And see what it looks like. We all here should be streaming to that way... This interests me, could you give an example? On Wikipedia there is no need to add the team name to the player article name, so I don't get this comment. Maybe if I see what you mean I will understand, a simple link will do, thanks.
4) As long as everyone is following givin guidelines... Again - guidelines, NOT rules! You call it a guideline, I call it a policy. Anyway, for both of them it goes that users should follow it, to keep everything from becoming a mess. --Pelotas (talk) 17:47, 10 November 2014 (CET)
As empress of th HT-wiki I will comand eveyone to use the current player naming convention. We could hold a vote about it but, given the fact that no one would notice that exept us three and I side with Pelotas, that seems unnecessary.
