120' Game
Extra training is possible during extra time. the added 30 minutes count as played time, so players can get trained, albeit for the starting players this has no use (the trainable minutes for the week is 90 minutes, the regular game time).
This time can be used to get other players at a trainable position only through substitutions and switch formations. One thing to watch out is that only 3 substitutions are allowed, so you should use the remaining order slots to switch player's positions.
A match where both players attempt to get 30 minutes of extra training is called the 120' game (also written 120 game).
How do you get extra training?
Two managers must arrange to play a friendly using cup rules. Both teams choose an extremely defensive tactic, increasing the chance of a 0-0 score after 90 minutes (at least above 50%).
The following contents are based on the opinion of Hattrick users — which means that their veracity and accuracy have not been confirmed by any official statement, and consequently they do not necessarily reflect the game reality. Please take this into consideration!
To play a 120' game both teams may:
- use the pressing tactics,
- play in a defensive formation, preferably 5-5-0.
- use a good goalkeeper and have much Defending skill on their defenders, midfields and wingers,
- have little Scoring on their forwards (if fielded), Wing on their wingers, Passing on their players, etc.
- play wing backs, wingers, midfields and forwards with the defensive individual order.
- use a low set pieces player as set pieces taker.
- not field players in the right position to score special events.
The extra training can be used in two ways:
- use it to give additional training in a second skill of some players - train your defenders on playmaking, or your midfielders and keeper on defense.
- make a scheme involving also the league game to give extra players full training - with a good scheme one can give a full player extra training.
History
The golden goal rule was introduced in Hattrick and was in use for a long time (the team who score first in extra time is the winner). Then the rule has been disapplied in the game too, many years after it was not applied in the real football.
