Nickname

Some players in Hattrick are born with a nickname, and some may be awarded a nickname by the HTs, after some special performance. Also GMs might give a player an initial if a manager has two players with the same name.

Awarded Nicknames

This is a few examples of players awarded a nickname:

Karsten 'Mjølnir' Hammer

Was awarded his name after Norway (his team) beat Sweden in a WC final.

George 'Archbishop' Carey

Nickamed Archibishop because he has the same name of the former archibishop of Canterbury - The greatest goalkeeper in HT History.

Amar ‘Nooruk’ Atwal

At the age of 29, he was assigned the nickname “Nooruk” (Estonian for “youth player”) for his efforts - A forward who was uninterruptedly trained for 11.5 seasons; for a long time he had the record of Experience (then surpassed by Zurita).

Pedro "Apache" Zurita

The first to beat the marks of 1000 and 1100 goals.

Markus 'Der Bomber' Saraba

Scored a hattrick in a WC final - The real life German striker Gerd Müller has the same nickname.

Pau 'La Rompe' Gerpe

"La Rompe" means "he's gonna break the goal net" - A prolific goalscorer and one of the top goalscorers worldwide.

Sergiy 'Chubagol' Chubenko

The second top scorer of hattrick's history.

Matej "Božský" Mertl

'"Božský" means "divine" - He had three divine skills (wing, set-pieces and experience) and become the best slovak player.

Predrag "Master" Andjelic

The first player in history to win the Hattrick Masters twice.

Swen "Fumpe" Ewers

Fumpe means "bad player" in German - He was in the German U20-Team that won the WC, but he didn't make many stars because he was trained in set pieces (he effectively silenced everyone questioning his appointment to the national team when he scored two goals in the U20-WC final).

Denis "Postrach" Backa

"Postrach" means "menace", and it's inspired on classic movie "Denis the Menace" - the story of this Slovak forward is narrated in an HP article (in season 40, he was 33yo and he helped Slovakia to reach 2nd round of WC scoring 8 qualification goals).

Roberto ‘Party’ Nastasi

A legend in his country, “No Nastasi, No Party” - The HTs gave him the nicknameAfter winning the Bronze with Switzerland (HT Press that tells his story).

Tonny ‘Staden’ Stadsholt

“Staden” is a way of calling Copenhagen - The nickname was awarded informally when he debuted in the NT, then HTs gave him officially after the defeat in WC final as a consolation for the Danish people.

Henk 'Phoenix' de Zoete

The only one player who is entred 2 times in a Hall of fame.

Thomas 'Snopan' Matsson

The star of Cartoon Utd.

Marc 'de la gente' O'Farrell

Librasboys, the president of Marc's club, in July 2002 approached the Argentine Forum and requested if it was possible to obtain a special nickname; The community echoed this request and supported it, so the player became Marc “de la gente” [“of the people”] O’Farrell (inspired on Diego Maradona’s autobiography book “Yo soy el Diego – de la gente”); Marc also started using a bandana on his head.

With the release of Hattrick Gears on November 1, 2011, it became possible to select nicknames for your players on a pay-for-perks basis.

• Christian 'Acero' Lumley (248757152) - Because of his country flag (Acero = maple).
