France is a Latin European league, the 5th nation to join the Hattrick World.
History
- The French country is one of the first created in October 2000 (global season 11) along with other six countries.
- Even if younger than Sweden the league use the global season count (along with only Germany, Italy, England, Finland, Danmark, Argentina, Mexico and USA).
- Regions were 34 for a very long time, then, following a redistribution of users, it was decided to reduced them to 24, incorporating 10 cities in their own regions:
- Bordeaux
- Lille
- Lyon
- Marseille
- Montpellier
- Nantes
- Nice
- Rennes
- Strasbourg
- Toulouse
- France hosted World Cup XXV, and qualified for the event (but was eliminated in Round II).
Division Growth
France was initially organised into three divisions, then they expanded to five divisions in season 19, and for season 31 they expanded to the current nine divisions.
