Sealand Cup XIII was the thirteenth edition of the Sealand Cup, the friendly competition of the Sealand federation and was held in (Dutch) season 30 (returning after being not played during season 28 and 29). The final was held at Waaier on 7 April 2010, where Rubinho19 defeated Sealandisch Nationaal Elftal 3–0. Defending champions AFC Hellas 192 did not compete in the tournament.

Participating teams

12 teams participated in Sealand Cup XIII, including one previous champion. Seven teams made their début. Two teams missed the start of the competition, because they were still active in another friendly competition. For the first time, the national team of Sealand participated among club teams.

Note 1: Real Hospital participated for the first time under that name. Their previous six appeareances were as Kings Squad.

Note 2: Sealandisch Nationaal Elftal participated for the first time under that name. Their previous two appeareances were as Iron Maiden's Troopers.

Note 3: Sealandia participated for the first time, but manager Rikhardur had participated six times in the past with Naarden (their best result was winning the Sealand Cup during the fifth edition).

The teams were drawn at random into three groups, with each team playing one or two home matches.

Group Stage

The Group Stage of the thirteenth Sealand Cup ran from 3 to 17 March 2010.

Format

The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (at home or away). Each team earned 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. The top-two teams of each group and two wild cards advanced to the quarterfinals. Wild cards were awarded to the non-qualifying teams that had the highest ranking in the unofficial fair play classification and the injury classification. Teams that did not challenge their opponent or accept their opponent's challenge were penalized with an automatic 2–0 defeat. Cards and injuries collected in matches played during the timeslot of a (forfeited) Sealand Cup match were counted for wild card purposes.

  • Sealandisch Nationaal Elftal did not play an out-of-competition match during the first group match at 3 March. To compensate, they received three penalty points for the fair play ranking and no points for the injury ranking.

Wild cards

Two teams received a wild card for the next round: the team with the best fair play record (1 penalty point for each yellow card, 2 penalty points for each direct red card and 3 penalty points for each red card as a result of two yellow cards) and the team with the most injuries (in number of weeks). Teams that already qualified by finishing in the top-two of their group (shaded blue in this ranking) could not qualify for a wild card. In case of a tie, prevalence was given to the team that forfeited fewer matches.

Knockout Stage

The next stage of the tournament was the Knockout Stage. Eight teams qualified for this stage (the group winners and runners-up from all groups, accompanied by the two wild cards). The winner of Group A would face the runner-up of Group C, the runners-up of Group B and C would face each other and the winners of Group B and C would face a wild card team. All knockout matches were played at a neutral venue. The final was played at Waaier, the home stadium of F.C. Memorice.
