I III

Prince Roy Cup II was the second edition of the Prince Roy Cup, a friendly competition in the Sealand federation for teams that were not able to compete in the Sealand Cup. The tournament was held in (Dutch) season 59, but the final and fifth place match were not played until two seasons later. On 20 October 2019, RKTVV and FC Jaapo played their final at de Tudorel Udreskoe Arena, in a replay of the final of Prince Roy Cup I. RKTVV succesfully defended their titel by winning 1–0.

Participating teams

Five teams were not able to compete in Sealand Cup XLI because they were still active in a cup competition. Therefore, they were eligible to participate in Prince Roy Cup II, since that competition started at a later date. AC Luna Spirit was able to compete in the Sealand Cup, but withdrew their participation (entering as a stand-by team) before the draw.

Three teams had taken part in the previous Prince Roy Cup. The other three participants from previous season were all able to compete in Sealand Cup XLI.

Note that AC Luna Spirit entered Sealand Cup XLI as a stand-by team and were originally scheduled not to compete in that competition. After another team withdrew their participation in the Sealand Cup after the draw, AC Luna Spirit took their place. Since they did not qualify for the quarter-finals, they were still able to compete in the Prince Roy Cup, making this a rare occasion in which a team competed in both Sealand Cup and Prince Roy Cup in the same season.

Seeding

The draw for the group stage was held in Heeze on 13 February 2019.

Teams were seeded into two pots based on their result in Prince Roy Cup I. Debuting teams were seeded by their Sealand-Coefficient. This was determined by results in all previous Sealand Cups.

Group Stage

The Group Stage of the second Prince Roy Cup ran from 19 February to 6 March 2019.

Format

The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (one match at home and one match away). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after golden goal or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after golden goal or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time. For goal difference purposes, winning a penalty shoot-out was rewarded with one extra goal (equal to scoring a golden goal). This point system is similar to the system used by the (real-life) IIHF for international ice hockey matches.

The group winners qualified for the final, the runners-up played for bronze and the third-placed teams competed for fifth place. If two teams were level on points, the winner of the head-to-head match would have been ranked higher.

Finals Stage

The next stage of the tournament was the Finals Stage. All teams qualified for this stage, with the match they qualified for depending on the position that they finished the group stage in.

Draw

The teams were seeded first to sixth, based on their result in the group stage. The highest-seeded team would play the second-highest-seeded team in the final, the third- and fourth-highest seeded teams would play each other in the small final and the fifth- and sixth-highest seeded teams would play in the fifth place match.

The matches were played at a neutral venue. de Tudorel Udreskoe Arena, the home stadium of FC Sammie de Cavia (whose manager had the original idea for this competition), was selected as host of the final.
