Giuseppe Montalto is an Italian footballer currently playing for Croatian team Farmers on the storm. A technical player, Montalto plays as either Inner Midfielder or Defensive Forward.
After playing his first 12 seasons of senior football in his home country, Montalto had two brief spells in Croatia and Poland before signing for Farmers on the storm at the begining of season 64.
Career at Farmers
Although usually deployed in his previous teams as inner, Montalto was bought to Farmers as forward. He came to club immediately after them being eliminated from National Cup in 2nd Round and was set to make his debut in Ruby Cup's first round against bot team Centrala. In that game, which ended 10-0 for Farmers, Montalto scored his very first career hat-trick. Montalto was important part of Farmers' team which won the title in series IV.12. He had scored his second hat-trick in important 12th round 6-0 win against rivals wildwildcats, a brace in last round 5-0 win against NK Hrašće 1953 and 4 more goals during the season, which was enough for him to be crowned as top scorer of IV.12 divison with 9 goals, as Farmers secured promotion to III.15.
In begining of Farmers' III division run, Montalto was not that efficient as in IVth division. In first season (season 65) he had scored 5 goals in 10 apperances, but 4 of those goals came against reconstructing teams Rudeš Dogs and Ranjeni vepar. Next season, he scored just one competitive goal, in 5-1 3rd cup round win against Krastavci!.
In season 67 Montalto was once again teams' best scorer, scoring 9 games in 17 official matches. It started with his 3rd career hat-trick, in 1st round of National Cup against Club of Sibinj (9-1 win). Later he scored twice more in National cup and twice in Ruby cup, where Farmers reached semifinals. He also scored brace in league 4th round 2-1 win against harlekin.
In 3rd round of National cup during season 68 Montalto scored his 100th career goal, in a 6-1 win against Wolfpackk.
