Season Synopsis
Stadium
The Rode Ster Paramaribo stadium, the Karl Marx Arena, had 51.250 seats at the beginning of the season and was not enlarged.
Season Summary
The team had no specific ambitions in this season. The team continued to focus on training Suriname U20 star Walter Faverey. The team continued training crossing, and would return to scoring at the end of the season.
In the Suriname Cup, Rode Ster Paramaribo was eliminated in the second round against The PARAsitic PINworms. They continued in the ruby cup, but were eliminated in the first round against Stella FC. Finally, the team played one more round in the Consolation Cup against Mighty Tigers, but again were eliminated.
In the competition, the team showed themselves a fierce competitor on the highest level. Despite an unexpected draw against FC Wisjewasje, they remained in the top 3 for most of the season, taking position 1 after a 1-5 victory against Wayamboweg Arawak's on matchday 5. Arawak's where the only real competition in the league, and the 3-0 win in the return game against them meant the team could prepare for the title. Rode Ster finished the season unbeaten, with 13 wins and one draw. They qualified for the play-offs for promotion, in which they defeated Friends of Gokker 1-2, and won promotion to division II.2.
