Scotland (Alba in Scottish Gaelic) is a Western European country. It was the 24th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Following real life football, Scotland competes as an independant nation in Hattrick with its own league, cups and national teams. Scotland entered into a political union with England on 1 May 1707 to create the new Kingdom of Great Britain (latter being renamed the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 1927).
The country has 5.5 milion inhabitants. Scottish Capital is Edinburgh, the largest city is Glasgow.

History

• Scottish league was established in May 2001 at the beginning of global season 13. HT-Scotland was created only two seasons after England got in.
• 9 regions were established, in line with the traditional regional councils; not surprisingly Strathclyde and Lothian have been the 2 regions with the most teams over the years. Although, with the introduction of second teams, Highlands and Islands increased dramatically their managers.
• Over time, there was 5 [division]]s levels setup using the game pyramid structure with the highest level named the Scottish Premier League (even though level 5 was filled of bots for the vast majority)
• Since the early days, there has always been a very lively, light hearted forum within the country which attracts many local and international visitors. Scotland also holded meetings around this very social nation, where all country's managers were welcome.
• Scotland has not hosted any World Cup yet.

• Thimi, manager of goudi city has won the most with 9 cups and have created a fantastic legacy. Rustog and colinb with 4 cups each and Boggler with 3 are excellent feats.

The Scottish Premier League is the top division in the country and regularly produces both very close title & relegation battles. Allegations have persisted for a number of years that a powerful cartel of managers run the Scottish game. The Cup was won by bots in the first 2 seasons and there are no official notes of matches on the Hattrick website. Since the third season it has generally been a 10 or 11 team tournament.

Until season 44 in Scotland there was only 1 main national cup known as The Scottish Cup, the main cup known as The Scottish Cup. Starting from season 44 new cups were introduced for teams who go out of The Scottish Cup before Round 7 and the HT Scotland Community decided on their names after much debate on the forum; Thistle, Tartan, Saltire and Diddy.
