France (also France in French) is a Latin European country. It was the 5th nation to join the Hattrick World.
The French Republic has 18 integral regions, five of which are situated overseas, and spans a combined area of 643 801 square kilometres (248 573 sq mi) with a total population of 67.06 million. Its capital is Paris, the largest city and main cultural and commercial centre. The Kingdom of France emerged as a major European power in the Middle Ages and, during the Renaissance, France flourished as a global colonial empire. In the late 18th century, the French Revolution overthrew the absolute monarchy, establishing one of modern history's earliest republics. Then Napoleonic Wars (1803–15) shaped the course of continental Europe.
History
- The French country is one of the first created in October 2000 (global season 11) along with other six countries.
- As part of Hattrick's initial expansion, even if younger than Sweden, the country uses the global season count (along with only England, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Argentina, Mexico and USA).
- Regions were 34 for a very long time, then, following a redistribution of users, it was decided to reduced them to 24, incorporating 10 cities in their own regions:
- Bordeaux
- Lille
- Lyon
- Marseille
- Montpellier
- Nantes
- Nice
- Rennes
- Strasbourg
- Toulouse
- France hosted World Cup XXV, and qualified for the event (but was eliminated in Round II).
Division Growth
France was initially created with ony three divisions, then they expanded to five in season 19, and for season 31 they expanded to the nine divisions before start to reduce them again.
