Dario Cakarun is a Croatian former football goalkeeper and coach who spent his whole career with Farmers on the storm, where he is currently employed as Youth scout. A "one-club man", Cakarun joined Farmers' youth system at the age of 15 in first week of Season 44. He was promoted to the first team at the age of 18 in Season 46. He played consistently for 20 seasons, eventually ending his career after 201 official and 324 total matches. He is considered amongst greatest club icons. He was made new coach of Farmers after sacking of Nenad Božić on September 8th, 2017. Under his guidance, Farmers won their biggest trophy to-date, Division III. title in the season 68. He stepped down middle in season 70 in favour of another club icon, Nebojša Ralević.

Playing Career

Cakarun was spotted by Marino Markić on December 4, 2010 as 15-year old in Zagreb. He then signed with then-Raiders on the storm youth team. He spent more than a two and a half seasons playing youth football, before being promoted near the end of Season 46 as a passable goalkeeper, with aim of being reserve goalkeeper to use in friendly games. As reserve shot stopper he was part of Farmers teams that won VI.433 and V.138 titles and participated in series IV.12. After team became farm, Cakarun was named first-choice goalkeeper, and being passable leader, one of possible future picks for team coach. He spent next nine seasons as undisputed first-choice goalkeeper, as team was relegated to Div. V and then even Div. VI. He was also first team player in subsequent "rebirth", in which Farmers won VI.973 and two V.128 titles. After promotion to IV division, however, he was again considered second-choice goalkeeper and captain of friendly games line-up. After three more seasons as back-up goalkeeper, Cakarun was named coach of Farmers on the storm on September 8, 2017, at the age of 38 years and 5 days.

Coaching Career

Cakarun took the reigns from Nenad Božić at the end of week 2 of Season 66, right before Round 2 match of series III.15, and with Farmers still in National Cup after passing first two rounds (in both games Cakarun featured as goalkeeper). Those two games turned out to be his last apperances as a player. Cakarun was sacked in season 70 and replaced by Nebojša Ralević.
