Nenad Božić is a Croatian former football player and coach. He is currently a scout for Farmers on the storm youth team, where he started his career, and whose team he led as a coach from season 63 to 66.
Playing career
Nenad Božić was scouted by Raiders on the storm scouting team and he joined Raiders' youth team sometimes in Season 37 where he developed into a forward. He was promoted in week 11 of the following season, but he didn't get a playing chance in his mother club, as he was immediately transfered to Ukrainian team BEST Dnipro for 213k €. After brief time in Ukraine, he had also played in Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina before finnaly settling for good in Colombia with Amarty FC. Božić played twelve seasons for Colombian outfit, scoring 77 goals in 166 competitive matches for the team. After that, he had another brief spell, this time in Italy, before he was transfered back to his mother club, now renamed Farmers on the storm. He always showed characteristics of a competent leader, and his many years of scoring goals in various leagues provided him with much experience, so naturally he was groomed to be new coach and successor to Olaf Erik Tomschitz when the time should come.
Coaching career
And the time came in Season 63, when Farmers were promoted to IV.48. Tomschitz stepped out of his role and Božić was named the new coach ahead of first game of the season. He coached the team to rather surprising 2nd place finish in first season after coming back to Div. IV. Next season, he made one step further and won the title and promotion to Div. III, which is still clubs greatest accomplishment. In Season 65, he coached team in series III.15 and finished 3rd. Although he had magnificent results as a coach, his leadership qualities started to fade, and club board decided to sack him in late night meeting of 8th September, 2017. Dario Cakarun, other Farmers alumni and former club goalkeeper, was named as his replacement.
