The National team U-20 Bénin has represented Western Africa country of Benin in juniores international friendlies and the U-20 World Cup. The national team symbol is the squirrel and for this reason they are called "Les Écureuils" (even if negotiations are underway to change it since 2018).

Beninese U-20 began international play in qualifying for U-20 World Cup V. The team's first official competition was in qualifying for U-20 World Cup XI.

In their forth season, they qualified for Round II of U-20 World Cup XII under the lead of Cortomaltese.
Coaches Lee_253CA in U-20 World Cup XXVIII and O4k_253CA in U-20 World Cup XXIX also succeeded in qualifying. The last-mentioned, in 2019, manages to qualify the squad to Round IV, the best result ever for Benin U20.

Details

Despite their young age and small user base, Benin scored a surprisingly upset in advancing to Round 2 of U-20 World Cup XII under the management of Cortomaltese, in only their second entry into the competition.

Subsequently, Lee_253CA has also managed to qualify Benin for the U-20 World Cup XXVIII in Sweden.

O4k_253CA finally succeeded in repeating Lee's "deeds" in the next mandate (U-20 World Cup XXIX, Kazakhstan).

On 4 October 2019, O4k_253CA (together with his extraordinary staff), following a legendary victory against the Czech Republic, managed to qualify the team to Round IV, thus signing the best result ever for this National Team (on this occasion, Benin U20 becomes the first African U-20 NT to collect at least one point in Round IV).
