A U-20 World Cup Revolution took place tonight as Sverige, until now seemingly unbeatable in the WC, were knocked out in the first group round after their defeats against Romania and now Oceania. Other remarkable achievements were made by little Estonia (Eesti) which crushed all resistance in Group 4, and by relatively small HT nation Austria (Österreich) which knocked out much larger England and Spain. Congrats România- Next year in the US
9.11.2003
Congrats to România for their dramatic victory in the U-20 World Cup final against Poland, who struggled bravely but eventually fell after penalties. Next season it is time for the "real" World Cup - can someone beat Sweden there as well? The World Cup is going to be played in the USA. Also, we'd like to mention that the next WC and the next U-20 WC are going to be the last played with the current WC rules. Details about the new system will be released later next season.
