== Officers ==
Iceland was created late 2001 and was at first taken care of by Danish [[GameMaster|GMs]] and [[Mod]]s. Soon they realized that the community was beginning to expand greatly and since Icelandic language is quite unique, it was decided that Iceland should get their own Mod. [[User:Hagskinna|Hagskinna]] was the first person to take the [[Moderator|MOD]] assignment and did so until 2007 when [[User:Argonite|Argonite]] took over after [[User:Hagskinna|MOD-Hagskinna]] resigned. Argonite started as a [[Moderator]] but worked his way up to the [[GameMaster| GM]] prefix when the Icelandic community had talked to the [[Danmark|Danish]] [[GameMasters]] to let someone take over that side. Was that agreed and [[User:Argonite|MOD-Argonite]] was promoted to take over. He has been taking care of the Icelandic Game Master side since.

Iceland (Ísland in local language) is a Northern European country. It was the 36th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Iceland is the most sparsely populated country in Europe with a population of 364 134 and an area of 103 000 km2 (40,000 sq mi) mostly volcanically and geologically active. The capital and largest city of this island country is Reykjavík.
The first permanent Norwegian settlers are recorded in 874 AD. The came under Danish rule in 1523. Iceland's independence took form in 1918 and the founding of a republic is dated 1944.


History

  • Icelandic league exist since Oct. 2001. It was one of the six new leagues created during global season 14.
  • There's no winner for cup in season 1. Due to a system crash the final matches between 2 bot teams has never been played.
  • Iceland has not hosted any World Cup yet.

Officers

Iceland was created late 2001 and was at first taken care of by Danish GMs and Mods. Soon they realized that the community was beginning to expand greatly and since Icelandic language is quite unique, it was decided that Iceland should get their own Mod. Hagskinna was the first person to take the MOD assignment and did so until 2007 when Argonite took over after MOD-Hagskinna resigned. Argonite started as a Moderator but worked his way up to the GM prefix when the Icelandic community had talked to the Danish GameMasters to let someone take over that side. Was that agreed and MOD-Argonite was promoted to take over. He has been taking care of the Icelandic Game Master side since.
