SOTV or S**t on the Villa are an English football team formed on 23rd December 2003 in Greater Manchester by their ever present manager, Squiz. The team's nickname is the Blues due to the colour of their kit and their taste in movies, and their supporters are known as the Zulu Army.

The team has won eight league titles and reached the 9th round of the cup on four occasions. The Blues currently play in division III.4, having recently relegated from division II.

The Zulu Army hope the club can one day survive a season in division II without getting humiliated along the way.

History

Early Years (Seasons 21-29)

The club was formed under the name S**t on the Villa on 23rd December 2003 (Season 21) by Squiz who rather arrogantly appointed himself as manager. The club started out with a squad of weak and inadequate players in division V.111, replacing the defunct old cassop. Despite overwhelming odds, S**t on the Villa managed to avoid relegation in their first couple of seasons whilst training playmakers, finishing 6th twice and winning the subsequent qualifiers 4-0 (14050460) and 9-0 (18648734) respectively.

Over the coming seasons the Blues had spells training wingers and defenders and hit 3rd place in Season 27, and were runners-up on 3 occasions (Seasons 24, 25 and 28). It wasn't until Season 29 that they won their first league title however, taking 39 points from a possible 42. This resulted in S**t on the Villa auto-promoting to division IV.32 after nearly 9 seasons in the 5th tier.

Div IV.32 (Seasons 30-33)

By now training Wingers, in Blues' first season in IV.32 they finished 6th by default, with the two teams below having sold up. Their second season started disastrously with the club forfeiting the first round of the cup 5-0 to a bot team after only four players remembered to turn up (98444993). Things improved after this and S**t on the Villa went on to challenge for the title, only missing out after unluckily losing at home against Bexley Babes on the final day of Season 31 (106742942).

Season 32 resulted in a slightly disappointing 4th place, but Season 33 was a remarkable time for Blues, as they lost only one league game to finish 1st and auto-promote, also reaching the 9th round of the Cup for the first time in their history. The team contained a number of S**t on the Villa all-time greats - up front the partnership of Craig Johnson and Andrew Currer, set-piece wizard Vrajkishore Ojha, flying wingers Jasper Thompson and Jos van de Lustgraaf all proved too much for the rest of the league to handle. The Blues scored an incredible 107 League and Cup goals as they romped to the title by a clear 10 points.

Div III.16 (Seasons 34-38)

S**t on the Villa adapted well to life in division III.16 and finished runners-up in their first season, before tragedy was to strike. During Season 35, S**t on the Villa were ordered to change their name on the grounds that it could be considered offensive. After much soul-searching, and debating whether to quit rather than submit to censorship, S**t on the Villa were 'rebranded' as SOTV. The fans initially had their doubts, and there was talk of a phoenix club being started called S**t on the SOTV. These doubts were to disappear as the newly named SOTV were to win their next league game 7-1 against a competitive Sowton side (168182195), widely considered to be a good omen, though the Blues were to eventually finish 4th in the league that season.

SOTV were again runners-up in Season 36, before a terrible Season 37 resulted in near-relegation back to division IV, only staying up after beating Hellas Sante in a qualifier 3-0 (205948715). After some fairly minor changes to the squad in the off season, manager Squiz turned things around in Season 38, winning the league with 36 points and scoring 71 league goals in the process. SOTV were now in division II for the first time in the club's history. Key players of this era include goalkeeper Neil Clunie, midfielders Torfin Fredriksen, Mark Doyle and Vrajkishore Ojha, and SOTV's first ever TDF, Vladimiro Rubio.

Div II.1 & III.10 (Seasons 39-43)

SOTV had a creditable first season in division II.1, accumulating 17 points from 14 league games and missing out on 4th place only on goal difference. Unfortunately, finishing 5th meant a qualifier match, and despite posting their highest ever hatstats, the Blues were very unlucky to lose 2-3 against Fylde College (237869938), and were relegated back to division III.

Now in division III.10, SOTV were to win the league in Season 40, only to lose their qualifier match against 11Musketeers (253821495) and therefore remain in the 3rd division. In Season 41, they were league runners-up to Faringdon Albion, and then in Season 42 they again won the league, this time securing 36 points, enough to auto-promote back to division II. This was unexpected even for the Zulu Army, as the team had entered a rebuilding phase, and it was widely felt that they needed a couple more seasons strengthening in division III before the new look side would be ready for the second division.

In Season 43 SOTV were once again in division II.1, only this time it was a lot stronger than during their previous stay, and due to team rebuilding, the Blues were in a much weaker state. An unlucky opening day loss at home to their main relegation rivals pretty much sealed their fate and the Blues eventually finished bottom of the league with a meager 9 points, relegating back to division III.

Div III.5 (Seasons 44-47)

With fan mood at rock bottom following relegation, manager Squiz reached for his chequebook. The week before Season 44 started, Blues signed Hans Wilders (GK), Michael Fitz William (IM), John Kostelidou (CD), Don Irvine (CD) and Mitch Bull (IM) for a total of £10 million. Another £3.5 million was spent a few weeks later on two more inner midfielders. Having a larger squad gave the Blues a greater tactical flexibility, and the league title was delivered using a mixture of 3-4-3, 2-5-3 and 4-3-3 formations. After winning the title, the Blues players simply had nothing left to give in their qualifier match, and were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Darwins XI (317527974).

The following season saw first choice forwards Konrad Labuda and Etore Furlan depart the Blues for a combined £4.6 million early on, and the Blues got off to a shaky start, with youth players John Russell and Ben Delaney initially struggling to fill the boots of the departed Labuda and Furlan. After four games SOTV had picked up just five points from twelve and a successful title defense looked unlikely. The Blues turned it round though, and won nine of the following ten games (thanks in part to the signing of technical forward Walter Velle) and clinched their second league title in as many seasons with a 6-3 victory in a dramatic last day title decider away at Gillamtasary (327783225). Once again however, the Blues were to be thwarted in their promotions hopes by the evil Darwins XI, losing their qualifier match 2-0 (333191288).

Blues very nearly won a third consecutive division III title in Season 46 but were narrowly beaten to the title on goal difference as they, Allyownians and Podland all tied on 30 points. Blues placed 2nd as their goal difference of +28 was 5 less then Allyownians, and 16 better than Podland.

During Season 47, Squiz changed SOTV's training regime from Scoring to Crossing and consequently shipped out first-team wingers Adam Sobzcuk and Peter Tuhey. The weakening of Blues team wasn't enough however to prevent them winning the title again, to make it 3 championships in 4 seasons. Despite being weaker this season they were successful in their promotion qualifier, beating Ozzy's Lodge 6-0 (364180732) largely because of their opponents experimenting with a 'revolutionary' 1-5-2 formation.

SOTV play their home games at Soi Paradise. The arena has been extensively developed and redesigned over the years and currently has a total capacity of 76 000, having started with a capacity of just 7 000. Despite the improvements in the infrastructure at the ground, the pies are still cold in the middle and the toilets are knee-deep in p***.

SOTV's record attendance is 76,560. This was achieved for a qualifier match against Fylde College on 30th August, 2009 (237869938) when the Blues had a capacity of 80,950.

• Andrew Currer (105 appearances 20/02/2007 - 30/11/2008)

Signed for £1,040,670 towards the end of Season 31, Andrew Currer added pace and goals to SOTV's attack. He won the Golden Boot award in Seasons 32 and 33 (in Division IV.32), and again after promotion to Division III.16 in Season 35. He still holds the record for most league goals in a season (15 in Season 35). This supernatural striker was at Blues for 6 seasons before he was sold for £2,299,333 to santoss, shortly after the departure of his long-term forward partner, Craig Johnson. He scored 93 goals for SOTV, with a record 84 competitive goals (G:93 L:53 C:31 Q:0 F:9).

• Craig Johnson (113 appearances 23/11/2006 - 19/11/2008)

The Blues first titanic forward was Craig Jonson who signed from FC Zaphod Beeblebrox before the start of Season 31 for £1,200,000. He was Blues top league scorer in his first season, and again in his fourth season as he and fellow striker Andrew Currer plundered goal after goal. In the cup Johnson's exploits are even more remarkable - scoring 7 goals in one game (203133097), and 15 goals in one cup season; two records that still stand today. Johnson eventually left SOTV for PALLO 78 in a £2,040,000 deal. His goalscoring record for SOTV stands at 95 goals, with a record 33 in the Cup (G:95 L:47 C:33 Q:1 F:14).

• Lorenzo Boulanger (157 appearances 25/12/2003 - 12/10/2006)

This lightning quick winger was manager Squiz's third signing for the club, and a deal was completed on Christmas Day 2003, taking him from Canadian team BC Metro Selects to the Blues for just £6,000. He developed into a Brilliant winger with Excellent playmaking skills and was a key player in SOTV's league winning team of Season 29. However, he was sold just 9 weeks later to LosBallos1 for £1,020,000 after the arrival of up-and-coming wingers Jasper Thompson and Jos van de Lustgraaf at the Blues. Boulanger captained the side 39 times, and scored 24 goals (G:24 L:11 C:4 Q:3 F:6).

• Mark Doyle (164 appearances 10/08/2007 - 01/03/2010)

Feared both in the air as a head specialist, and on the ground as an extraterrestrial playmaker, Mark Doyle was an essential first team player at Blues for almost 9 seasons. He signed from Zeast FC for £765,330 and in his debut season was part of SOTV's legendary promotion winning team of Season 34. Doyle was able to handle the step-up from Division IV to Division III, and was later part of the SOTV team that got promoted to Division II in Season 38. He made 151 competitive appearances (and only 13 friendly appearances), scoring 47 goals before moving on for £918,000 to Kronenhalle (G:47 L:30 C:13 Q:1 F:3).

• Neil Clunie (162 appearances 20/02/2008 - 20/03/2010)

A goalkeeper of supernatural prowess, Neil was signed for £1,900,000 at the end of Season 34. He went on to keep a record 63 clean sheets for the Blues over 7 seasons, remaining a virtual ever-present between the sticks and helping the team to two Division III titles in the process. Clunie also holds the record for most appearances by a goalkeeper for SOTV (162) and most competitive appearances by a goalkeeper (137). He captained the Blues on 9 occasions. Nearing 30, he was sold to current club extralarge for a healthy £2,500,000 in Season 41.

• Nicki Sperling (19 appearances 28/03/2010 - 07/06/2010)

Signed to replace legendary keeper Neil Clunie, Nicki Sperling became SOTV's most expensive player when he signed for a then record £4,200,000. However, despite his undoubted talent (8* in his best match (269543543) and 10 clean sheets in just 19 games), it quickly became apparent he didn't yet have the experience or set-piece skill required. When the opportunity arose to sell him at a profit to Viborggade Boldklub just two and a half months later, manager squiz didn't hesitate and the player moved on for £4,900,000; another SOTV transfer record.

• Viktor Gustavsson (134 appearances 07/12/2005 - 31/01/2009)

The brilliant striker played for SOTV for almost 12 seasons, scoring exactly 100 goals (G:100 L:29 C:24 Q:0 F:47). He signed from F.C. Parcul 1 for £1,300,000, and went on to help the Blues secure their first ever league title in his second full season (Season 29), whilst finishing as SOTV's top league scorer. Gustavsson also scored regularly in Cup matches and became SOTV's top cup goalscorer a record 3 times - in Seasons 28, 29 and 34. As well as a natural born goalscorer, Viktor was a born leader. He captained SOTV 81 times and was appointed player coach at the beginning of Season 32, helping the club to it's second league title in Season 33. He remained with the Blues till Season 38, when he left to take up a coaching position with FC Lowrider, for whom he still works today.

• Vrajkishore Ojha (163 appearances 17/03/2007 - 10/12/2009)

This versatile supernatural midfielder was a utopian set-piece taker who played 141 competitive games over 9 seasons for SOTV. He was the Blues' top league goalscorer in Season 36 with 8 goals, and in Season 38 with 13 goals. He was joint top-scorer in Season 39 with five other players. Ojha won 3 league titles with SOTV, and is their record league goalscorer with 56 goals (G:99 L:56 C:25 Q:0 F:18).
