Costa Rica (also called Costa Rica in Spanish) is a North American country. It was the 71st nation to join the Hattrick World.

The Republic of Costa Rica has a population of around 5 million in a land area of 51 060 km2 (19 714 sq mi). An estimated 2 million people live in the capital and largest city, San José.
It formally declared independence in 1847 and in 1949 Costa Rican people permanently abolished its army, becoming one of only a few sovereign nations without a standing army. Today the country spends roughly 7% of its budget on education.

History
