Prince Roy Cup I was the first edition of the Prince Roy Cup, a friendly competition in the Sealand federation for teams that were not able to compete in the Sealand Cup. The tournament was held in (Dutch) season 58, with the final being played at de Tudorel Udreskoe Arena on 14 November 2018. In a replay of the final of Sealand Cup XXXV (five seasons earlier), RKTVV defeated FC Jaapo 4–1.
Participating teams
Seven teams were not able to compete in Sealand Cup XL because they were still active in a cup competition. Therefore, they were eligible to participate in Prince Roy Cup I, since that competition started at a later date. One team participated as a stand-by team and did not compete ultimately. All eligible teams had previously played a Sealand Cup final, with all but two winning at least once.

Seeding
The draw for the group stage was held in Heeze on 17 October 2018.
Teams were seeded into two pots based on their Sealand-Coefficient. This was determined by results in all previous Sealand Cups.

- FB Athletic (being a stand-by team) did not participate after RKTVV were eliminated from the cup competitions (which made them eligible to compete in the Prince Roy Cup).
Group Stage
The Group Stage of the first Prince Roy Cup ran from 24 October to 7 November 2018.
Format
The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (one match at home and one match away). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time. For goal difference purposes, winning after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out counted as a single golden goal. This point system is comparable to the system used by the (real-life) IIHF for international ice hockey matches.
Because of the odd number of teams in each group, all teams had one bye week in the group stage. The schedule was fixed to guarantee that the last group match would matter for first place in the group. Because of this, the winners of the first week would automatically receive their bye during the second week. RKTVV (still active in a cup competition at 24 October) had their bye during the first week. FC Sammie de Cavia had their bye also during the first week, as highest-seeded team from their group.
The group winners qualified for the final, the runners-up played for bronze and the third-placed teams competed for fifth place. If two teams were level on points, the winner of the head-to-head match would have been ranked higher.
Since RKTVV team was still active in a cup competition at the time of the draw, their participation was not final until they were eliminated at 24 October. If they had won their cup match, they would have been replaced by FB Athletic.

Finals Stage
The next stage of the tournament was the Finals Stage. All teams qualified for this stage, with the match they qualified for depending on the position that they finished the group stage in.
Draw
The teams were seeded first to sixth, based on their result in the group stage. The highest-seeded team would play the second-highest-seeded team in the final, the third- and fourth-highest seeded teams would play each other in the small final and the fifth- and sixth-highest seeded teams would play in the fifth place match.
The matches were played at a neutral venue. de Tudorel Udreskoe Arena, the home stadium of FC Sammie de Cavia (whose manager had the original idea for this competition), was selected as host of the final.

The Fair Play Award was won by FC Jaapo (no cards in three matches) with 24 points. De Snelle Jelles did also not receive any card, but the tie-breaker criteria favoured FC Jaapo, since they managed to qualify for the final. Other tie-breakers, such as number of cards received and cards received per minute could not determine the winner (as neither team received any card).
