On 2 October 2018, 1.FC Erpsenhausen and Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track played a friendly in week 10 of season 69. Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track went into the match as Unofficial Clubteams World Champions and held on to the title with a rather limited 2-0 victory, despite having no less than 10 chances throughout the match.

Match report

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 1912 to Erpsen-Topf. 郑 (Zheng) 西 (Xi) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Albert Mathiassen and Mikko Murtola. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. The following players had been chosen by Erpsenhausen: Rameder - Schoeps, Lieff, Berchi, Groothusen, Steinbeisser - Bohnen, Hilbrand, Lutherdt - Zwicke, Schwieberdingen.

Back-on-Track fielded: Ćupina - Bergamaschi, Hahn - Al-Sadah, Van Lede, Van Keymeulen, De Muynck, Curiel - Otchigin, Zhivotnev, Flores.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-3-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3.

First half

For their match strategy, Erpsenhausen had decided to use their outstanding (10) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Back-on-Track's Qutugh Otchigin could have put the guests one up after 5 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but Nils-Hendrik Rameder was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Erpsenhausen's counterattacks created a good chance for Dietmar Zwicke on the right after 6 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. The visiting Jorge Guillermo Flores was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 23 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Nils-Hendrik Rameder got a fingertip on Israel Curiel's shot from the left 24 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Nikolay Zhivotnev increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Back-on-Track, who controlled the ball 80 percent of the time.

Second half

A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from Nikolay Zhivotnev after 63 minutes, and prevented Back-on-Track from going up another goal. With 64 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Erpsenhausen resulted in a counterattack that set Tobias Schwieberdingen free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. With 79 minutes played, Nils Steinbeisser of Erpsenhausen fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 80 minutes of game time, Qutugh Otchigin had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Nils-Hendrik Rameder was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by Nils Steinbeisser rendered him his second booking of the match, and Erpsenhausen had to finish the game with a reduced squad. With the scoreboard showing that 82 minutes had been played, Back-on-Track nearly put themselves up another goal after Nikolay Zhivotnev came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. After 83 minutes, the defensive line of Erpsenhausen created a counterattack through the middle that gave Max-Georg Hilbrand a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 2. Back-on-Track enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.

Post match

Erpsenhausen's best player was Tobias Schwieberdingen. Nils Bohnen turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Back-on-Track player was Guido De Muynck. Israel Curiel on the other hand, had a terrible day.
