Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track hosted HighWind on 28 October 2020 under the terms of a friendly in week 6 of season 76. The match was however an UCWC-title match as HighWind had captured the title in their previous match. They lost the title however as Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track took over following a convincing 5-1 win.

Match report

5277 spectators arrived at The Railroads, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Louis Brüggenwirth was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Miguel Ángel Chala and Raúl Viñe.

Back-on-Track fielded: Genkinger - Garardi, Bergamaschi - Mas, Bespyatykh, Van Keymeulen, Guðjónsson, Amatori - Amri, Colaluce, Madeikis. HighWind's starters: Suntoro - Agustino, Akhryukov, Aldinal - Juli, Baxter, Deidda, Heßloch, Soelistiawan - Riccioni, Nohl.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2.

First half

Back-on-Track tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic. HighWind were relying on their excellent ability to counter-attack. After 11 minutes of play, David Colaluce gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. With 24 minutes played, Back-on-Track's Yan Bespyatykh almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Antoine Genkinger became the hero of the day for the home crowd as he saved a penalty by Alessandro Nohl after 25 minutes. Alessandro Nohl of HighWind was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Back-on-Track to 2 - 0 as Yan Bespyatykh finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 29 minutes in, Back-on-Track's Ove Guðjónsson received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. If you took a close look at Alessio Amatori in this game you would see how he always managed to make himself useful to his team mates, even when he was far from the action himself. The home side's Eduardo Garardi came close to extending the lead 41 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Saeful Suntoro managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Back-on-Track's Helmut Van Keymeulen was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 42 minutes. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Back-on-Track enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

Second half

The unexpected cross pass from HighWind's Gilbert Aldinal after 47 minutes opened up the defence and was received by Sugandi Soelistiawan who finished off for 2 - 1. Othmane Amri had a fantastic opportunity to put Back-on-Track up another goal 55 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. It was obvious that team Back-on-Track had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. 56 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as David Colaluce broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Back-on-Track. After 59 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Othmane Amri might have resulted in another goal for Back-on-Track. However, Saeful Suntoro made a spectacular save. Back-on-Track had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Back-on-Track's Othmane Amri increasing the lead to 4 - 1. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. Back-on-Track players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Cheers filled the stadium as Eduardo Garardi broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 1 to Back-on-Track. The match ends 5 - 1. Back-on-Track had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

Post match

The most dominating Back-on-Track player was without a doubt Helmut Van Keymeulen. Vilnis Madeikis on the other hand, had a terrible day. HighWind's top performer was clearly Sugandi Soelistiawan. However, Saeful Suntoro made a disastrous appearance.
