Olaf Erik Tomschitz is a German former footballer and coach who spent most of his career with Croatian team Farmers on the storm, playing for them from season 46 through season 65, and coaching them from season 54 to season 62. He captained Farmers in exactly 200 games (both competitive and friendly). After spending two seasons as one of the scouts of Farmers' youth team before becoming Form Coach, under head coach Vladimir Stipaničev in season 74.
Early Career
Tomschitz was scouted in week 4, season 41 by Raimund Ludwich for Wadenbeißer Berge's youth academy. He was promoted as soon as he turned 17 in the middle of season 42, and immediately sold to Swiss side Penguins Football Club, where he spent next season and half, for around 70k €. At the begining of season 44 he was sold to Lithuanian side Boogaloo for which he played for the next three seasons, becoming supernatural playmaker. He joined Raiders on the storm at the end of season 46, as the team began reconstruction period.
Career at Raiders/Farmers
Tomschitz joined Raiders as first amongst group of players destined to bring Raiders back to higher divisions after the team hit rock bottom with relegation to lowest, 6th, division of Croatian Hattrick pyramid at the end of season 46. This group included likes of Olaf's midfield collegues Vietnamese Tran Le Buu Chau and Ukrainian Pavlo Vykidaylo, Norwegian winger Stig Tornes and Italian forwards Daniele Facchini and Giuseppe Margolfo (still the team's all-time best competitive scorer) among others, who were all primarly trained in Passing. This new core of players quickly regained Div. V status by winning VI.433 without a point lost. They than played in V.138 for four seasons before finally winning it in season 51 and promoting to IV.12. Raiders achieved two 3rd places in this division before deciding to become farm and center on NT player Benjamin Ramljak. Tomschitz was the only player of the main core who was not sold - he instead became coach.
Tomschitz's coaching spell lasted for 8 seasons during which there were no pressure of results. Naturally Raiders were relegated with 0 points and 0 scored goals in season 54 in IV.12, and then spent 4 seasons with mediocre results at V.205 before once again being relegated to Division VI, this time VI.973. From now on, the team, which was renamed to Farmers on the storm on 2/4/2014, once again started with (semi)competitive play, winning VI.973 in season 59, followed with two V.128 titles in season 60 and 62. After last titles, Farmers had finally won their promotion play-off and promoted to Div. IV.48. Tomschitz was then sacked and replaced by Nenad Božić, but still stayed in the team as a player, albeit now in a much reduced role, only as a backup in major games and playing early cup rounds and friendlies. He captained the team for record 200 times, last time in season 65 opening cup round. He got injured in stoppage time of Sapphire cup round 2 against Žderonje that same season, which proved to be his last game ever as his head injury was deemed too severe for his advanced playing age.
Tomschitz scored 3 career hattricks, all three for Farmers. First one came while the club was still Raiders, in a league game against bot N.K. Gool in season 50 league 12th round (match ended 11-0 for away Raiders). Other two hattricks came after he became coach, both in season 55's national cup, in the first round against FC Amateri (6-0 away win) and in the next round against GNK Nikud Nikam (4-1 away win).
